Chris Jent will have a new seat next season

UPDATE (6/10):

Now, it's official.

"Adding Chris to our coaching staff provides the team with a coach who will remain loyal to the mission of returning this franchise to prominence," said Kings Coach Mike Malone to Kings.com. "He's experienced at the professional and collegiate levels, is extremely well-prepared, and has made a significant contribution in every stop along his coaching career."

Original Story (6/7):

According to a report from Ailene Voisin ofThe Sacramento Bee, Chris Jent has accepted the lead assistant coach job with the Sacramento Kings.

Jent will be returning to the NBA after just two years with the Buckeyes to team up with new Kings' head coach Mike Malone. Malone and Jent spent time together with the Cavs while LeBron was with the team.

With Jent's departure, Thad Matta will now be looking to add another assistant coach to the staff. With it being this late, look for Thad Matta to seriously considered Greg Paulus. Paulus has served as the Video Coordinator for the past two seasons after one year as an assistant at Navy. Paulus turned down an assistant coaching job with Toledo earlier this year.

On Wednesday, we mentioned that losing Jent could hurt Ohio State's chances with 2015 top-prospect Carlton Bragg after he had built a strong relationship during his time in Columbus.

I'm surprised he stayed here as long as he did. I wonder if Thad knew that his employment would be a temporary move?

Isn't an asst coaching job always a temporary move, at least if you're good? I'm sure Thad knew Jent would be in demand and would jump for the right job.

I love me some Chris Jent but to be quite honest with you, I haven't been impressed with our offensive sets the last couple of years. Best of luck to him!

Why Sacramento?

"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.

I'm just happy to be here

I hope this doesn't mean that Sam Thompson's jumper will regress.  I loved watching the progress he made this past season.

Just Win.

Move Paulus up and replace Paulus with Danny Peters from Arizona's staff

Thad doesn't have to look far in this coaching search. His replacement is sitting three seats down from him in the heading photo. Paulus is a smart kid, played under one of the best basketball minds in our century. Gregg would make a great addition to the full time staff.

Loving all things Buckeye from SEC country in Alabama.

I thought Paulus took a position with another school (NW, maybe)?
Perhaps those were just rumors.
