Despite scoring 11 of his team's 14 points down the stretch, LaQuinton Ross had just committed a foul his team couldn't afford. Arizona's Nick Lyons drove the baseline for layup and was fouled by Ross on the way up. The basket would count and Lyons would tie the game from the line.
After taking the inbound with 21 seconds remaining, Aaron Craft slowly dribbled up the court, watching precious seconds tick off. With six seconds left, Ross set for a screen, but both defenders – conscious of his heroics against Iowa State in the round of 32 – went with Craft, leaving Ross open from 24-feet out.
Ross took it from there.
