I am critical of Matta and still will be until he achieves relative to the classes he brings in. The reality is this just makes up for the thrashing they took at home. Still, was a good win. Very impressive.
I disagree. Coaching at the college level in my opinion is 50/50 recruiting to in game coaching. Thad is a great recruiter and then when he gets the players he wins consistently at a very high level. How in the world are we even thinking B10 championship this year? We have never had a better coach in my lifetime.

Agreed about the "never had a better coach". When I am critical, people need to put it into perspective. Matta IS a great coach. But people act like it's sacrilege to even consider criticizing him. What I would like to see is us overachieve in the tournament. I don't feel like Matta has done that. IMO, we lose to teams we should beat. Whether it's Siena or Kansas, I think they SHOULD have won those games. Matta is a GREAT coach. Just once I would like to see these great recruiting classes win a ring. College basketball is set up the best for it.
