Boren, Sabino & Simon Will Represent OSU in Chicago

The Big Ten released a list of the 36 football players who will be attending the 41st annual Kickoff Luncheon on Thursday and Friday, July 26 and 27, at the Hyatt Regency McCormick Place in Chicago. No surprises with the Ohio State contingent as Urban Meyer has kept tradition by sending seniors Zach Boren, Etienne Sabino and John Simon.

Attending the event is an honor for upperclassmen and is huge from a media perspective because all of the Ohio State-related quotes coming from the evnet will be coming from Meyer and the three players chosen to attend (oh, and whatever unsolicited trash Bielema offers up from the dais). Attendees also tend to become captains, so if you're placing bets on who the season captains will be, you could do worse than going with the three that will be accompanying Meyer to the Windy City.

Jebus. A gray box that starts out with "Boren, Sabino and Simon" nearly made me s--t myself.

Will Urban & company be back for FNL?

I would think if they left right after the luncheon and flew back, yeah they could make it to FNL @ 7pm no problem.

Yeah, it's funny because beat writers that typically drive to Chicago for the KOL will have a challenge because they won't finish until around 11am, which is noon ET (that's if they skip the luncheon). But I imagine Urban will be heading home by air, giving him plenty of time to get back to Columbus (if he isn't flying home on a private jet).

I was actually thinking earlier today about captains. Boren and Simon are forgone conclusions but I was thinking Sabino too. I know he hasn't lived up to his billing as of yet but I wonder if the new regime will do a guy like him good. I think Stoney would have been an obvious Captain too but I don't know if he's out of the Maize house yet.
