Terrible half. We fell in love with lazy offense taking 9 threes and turned it over 7 times leading to 9 mich points. We're shooting a healthy 10/17 from inside the arc. Defense is sluggish. Mich shooting only 38% but missed at least 4 wide open shots / layups. 

not sure why we abandoned attacking the zone from the elbows like Thomas was doing early.

OSU's 2nd half offense is every bit as dreadful as their 1st half offense. So far.

Outside of Thomas, I have no idea what everyone else is doing.  First place on the line...and awful decision making with no hustle getting back.  This team just makes you shake your head.

Will Buford is a no-show once again in a big game, shooting 3/12 from the field today.  OSU overall shot 19/49 with 12 turnovers and only 9 assists. We know they are capable of playing better than this. Why are they so often failing to achieve it?

I agree about the refs to an extent...really, 5 charges to 0 for Michigan? But, you've got to get over it.  I don't think I saw anyone jump stop in the lane coming down on a drive.  38% shooting isn't going to get it done.  You should be looking to everyone on the team not named D.T. for this pathetic showing.

Buford stunk again on the road. Sully needs another year of college. If he can't handle the lousy Wolverine no-names, he'll never be able to play in the pros.

By the way, it's going to be almost impossible to get a 1 seed now.  Lose at MSU and an early round B1G tourney exit and we're looking at a 3 seed, if we're lucky.

We did not want to win that game, and it showed in our lack of intensity. Ugh. It was ugly and brutal, and I kind of regret watching all 40 minutes of the game. 

I've been on here before defending this team and Matta. I still back them both - but it's getting very very hard. This team has struggled on the road all year...and now this. I had this gut feeling that they would be a special team this year - but I just can't see that being the case now. It just seems like they've been figured out all of the sudden and teams have the recipe to beat them. Without outside shooters & this type of play - they will be leaving the tourney early. How they handle MSU on the road will determine what their chances for this year are. Lose there and they leave before the sweet 16. Win and they have a chance to go far in the tourney. Either way - not playing well late in the year and that's a bad sign. I hope they rally and prove us wrong - but right now - not looking good.

This team is unwatchable

I don't understand Matta choosing not to foul with just a 6-7 second differential, down 3, and scUM missing foul shots consistently. There was zero room for error with that coaching philosophy. Horrible officiating...very bad coaching.

Same recipe as last week - poor shooting and absolute garbage officiating.  How that hack Ted Valentine and his cronies have jobs while millions of Americans who are qualified for good jobs are out of work is beyond me.  Between BS charges (4 out of those 5 were complete BS, 1 was marginal, and Michigan got away with at least 3) and unbelievable no calls on fouls, we got swerved out of 10-15 points easily.  I mean, what the hell can we do about it?  I have never seen officiating so blatantly bad against us in my entire life as I've seen this season, and particular these games against MSU and Michigan.  Especially late, just as it seemed we were ready to snatch momentum and get out of the Ann Armpit with a win, the refs found a garbage call to make that doomed us.  It's like Valentine's thinking "uh oh, OSU is getting too close, we can't have this...uh, no, Aaron Craft getting dumped on a layup attempt is not going to be a foul" "Oh shit, Lenzelle and one NO, CHARGE!".  I'm tired of this shit.  I don't care how fucking bad our guys shot tonight, I don't care about Buford doing his usual 20% shooting shit, I don't care about Sully missing bunnies that he could've easily made.  I don't care that Deshaun Thomas was our only reliable scoring threat.  You take how shittily we played offense tonight, everything else, and give us competent officiating, you're looking at a 4-7 point win for this team.  The officials should not be this noticeable in the outcome of a game.  The only calls we get are bad makeup calls for the original bad calls made against us!  And then all Matta and the players do is sarcastically smile at these assholes.  I want to see Matta absolutely go off on these refs.  The frustration obviously builds, and is clouding the focus of the team.  He needs to absolutely tee off on them.  Get a T.  That's fine.  That will inspire our guys.  Get it all out of your system, get your money's worth, fire up the team, and show the world who's boss. 

OSU and Michigan are both overrated as fuck.  I understand one game of poor shooting, but the second Saturday in a row in a big game, and we have a trend.  This team has not learned a damn thing from anything they've gone through.  I would hope after MSU that this team has all the motivation and learning experience it needs to power through the rest of the schedule, but obviously that's not the case.  It is February 19 and we have not progressed a damn bit from last Saturday, from the Illinois loss, and have digressed wildly from the Duke win.  I'm so tired of seeing shit like this.  I'm mostly tired of the officiating, so I may be projecting a bit on the team here.  The only hope we have is that Ted Valentine is not allowed anywhere near our games in the NCAA tournament, and these losses reduce the targets on our back come tourney time so that if we get to the point where we play a top seed, we can play the underdog role well.  But since this team obviously can't shoot for shit, I'm not sure how much it's going to matter.  The officiating really cost us tonight because the game was close and the officiating was horid.  But a really good team may have got us by double digits tonight, to the point where the points we were swerved out of by Valentine and his cronies wouldn't have mattered.  I'm done drinking the "we'll learn from this" Kool-Aid - I'll believe it when I see it.  But right now, if we make it to the Sweet 16, it will be a miracle.  I just hope if we underachieve this year, we'll get guys like Sully and Thomas back for next year, along with a good young core that is a year more experience, and we'll see what we can do.  And maybe a shakeup of B1G officiating.  What makes this so damn frustrating is that I know this team is better.
