Taylor Decker is #20

IrishEyes.com editor Dave Berk has confirmed what many suspected when Vandalia Butler offensive tackle announced he would be visiting Ohio State this weekend: that he in fact would be switching his pledge from Notre Dame to Ohio State.

Decker committed to Notre Dame in March, and was the subject of much Buckeye conversation when Urban Meyer took over the Buckeye program in November, but he had maintained his allegiance to the Irish despite the Buckeyes' advances. When it was announced that two Notre Dame coaches, Tim Hinton and Ed Warriner, would be joining Meyer's staff in Columbus, the tea leaves began to have a different feel to them, and today Decker made it official.

Decker becomes the 20th member of the 2012 Ohio State recruiting class and the first offensive tackle to make the call for Ohio State. He's ranked as nation's 14th best offensive tackle on Scout.com

Don't be surprised if this is the first of a few bits of good news for Urban and the Buckeye recruiting effort.

My son-in-law is a Vandalia Butler grad and a huge Notre Dame worshipper. He will be pissed when he finds out Decker switched from the Irish to become a Buckeye.

I'm glad to see a Dayton area guy staying home! I also would just show videos of Brian Kelly losing his mind on the sidelines when recruiting against ND. I would never send my kid to a team that he coached.

Wish i could've seen Brian Kellys' "scarlet colored" face after Decker called to give him the great news! Him & ND have got to be hating Urban Meyer and The Ohio State University right now! First Urban takes two of his best coaches that he has on staff and then he turns around and steals one of his top recruits! That's frickin' AWESOME!

Okay. I admit it. I am glad OSU hired Meyer. I freaking hate the SEC sooooo much that it took me this long to see it was a good thing. For what it's worth, I had a dream last night that we beat Michigan this November 45-14.

Meyer needs to lock down the Dayton, Cincinnati and Cleveland areas. This is a great, great start. For those that said we shouldn't expect the same kind of domination of the B1G that was the Tressel decade, I personally think things are only going to get better. And if scUM actually fields a competitive team, all the better for OSU when we beat them. They can have Kalis. He's going to regret it. It's great to be a Buckeye!

I think I even read some ND fans were saying they've had a better team for the past 20 years. According to this, they haven't beaten tOSU since 1936.

They were totally out of control out when we beat them down here at the Fiesta Bowl game!!! I have never run into a more arrogant and obnoxious group of fans (other than Ann Arbor Community College) in my entire life! We had the pleasure of sitting in their side during the game and it was quite satisfying I must say. They were amazingly loud and taunting during the first drive when they scored - and hysterically whiny and grumpy for the rest of the game! MAN that was fun!!!

I also remember that A.J. Hawk's sister was dating Brady Quinn at the time, and the camera would focus on her every time A.J. made a play on Brady. That WAS fun!

Sadly for them, they started taunting us about how much AJ sucked during that initial drive and since they were AMAZINGLY annoying - it was really easy to get right back into their face once we started thoroughly beating them senseless.

There were a ton of excellent themes throughout the game:

Brady's sister didn't go down that easily

AJ nailed his sister last night and Brady all day long

It just went on and on and on!!!

Exactly - they were thumping their chests even before the game! I told one genius that they at least have to win a bowl game, being 0 - 8 at the time, prior to actually bragging about how great your team is! It was a beautiful silence from them leaving the stadium!!!
