PHONE'S RINGING -- IT'S URBAN ON THE LINE
This isn't late
Comcast went out on me a mere seconds before I was set to publish this thing. Took over an hour to come back up. My apologies.
I wasn't excpecting anything and was just trying to poke fun on the timing is all. I luv this site.
Sit Buford maybe?
He is killing us.
on both ends
PASS THE BALL ITS 3 ON 2
Play Thompson, Spoon, or Ross?
I don't care. I think I would play better out there than WB right there. Another TO from a bad entry pass.
Well, might as well use it.
Nice finish by craft.
I can't hate Meyers Leondard. He's too much fun to watch.
And there are the stupid turnovers. Got to keep those to a minimum.
TLB is getting upset!
Buford is no longer the best option... Sorry im not sorry
"Winter is coming" - Urban Meyer
Guess he has rested enough and will now give some effort
where has this been all night?... and why isn't anyone running 11W twitter feed
yall are having an off night... as are our buckeyes
better late than never
Buckeyes need to step it up on D and feed Sully the ball down low
That would work a lot better if we actually had someone who could hit a 3.
Thank god Thomas has stepped up this year because we can't depend on buford at all.
Like i was saying, I knew we should stick with Buford and that he would find his range.
WB currently 5/14 shooting with 2 turnovers and 0 assists. Pathetic.
finally WB with the bucket
and he is playing defense... atta boy!
Illinois has just played harder in the last five minutes.
WB scoring in the clutch.
And with excellent hustle this game.
Thad must trust Thompson on D. He moved Craft off of Paul when Sam came in.
And he's the first off the bench after Ravanel's sub for Sully.
or he doesnt think Craft is athletic enough to keep up with Paul. He had Smith guarding him in the first half
This game has been a huge running game, and a lot of fun to watch.
Absolutely horrid defense by Buford.
I think I sound like a broken record: B1G refs SUCK.
Don't text while driving.
Thats because IT'S A FOUL
I pull Buford if this is a one shot game under 30 seconds.
Why? The covered 3 pointer isn't a good decision in a one point game?
I'll get over that shot and the Kentucky 3 pointer when we win a national title and invite diebler back for it.
Dakich: "First time in 20+ years that wasn't called a foul"
dude has said some very idiotic things tonight
I think that was his way of saying nicely that it should've been called a foul. And it should've.
So does WB take the last shot tonight? It's his Bday... might just work out for us this time
Surprised that wasn't an over-the-back call right there. It was quite blatant.
Otherwise, our stupid turnovers and bad shot selection is what is killing us. I would like to see us spread the defense and slash to the basket more. It worked earlier, and opened up the perimeter. Also, our shots are not falling right now.
We have to up our intensity to win.
They should have called a foul on WB for that lame pass
Make up call.
Man, he got air on that one
I wonder what it's like being that high in the air.
Man crush on Thompson continues to grow.
Yeah, we want the ball in WB's hands at the end.
Good god. They can't miss, and we can't buy a bucket.
Brandon Paul will never score this many points again, in any game. I bet my life on it.
Reminds me of the game at Madison last year.
+1. Exactly what I was thinking.
Time to run the backdoor 'oop for Sam.
I know my mind is blown that Buford would turn the ball at a critical moment. Blown.
WB is killing OSU!
Jesus christ dude. Pass the rock.
atta boy sully
Classic, JJ wearing his own shirt
Almost forgot..........click the HOMAGE link to get yours
That was JJ Sullinger, was it not? Not Jackson?
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Craft has not been trying to score this half, and it's kind of been annoying me.
Gotta make that
This team seems to lose it in in crunch time.
Lack of experience is killing us right now. Buford is our only senior. We have Sully and Craft who, despite playing like vets, are only sophomores. DT played mostly junk time and some meaningful minutes, and Thompson -the true freshman. There is not a lot of experience on the court.
Do we lose every road game this year?
Uh, no. Iowa already in the books.
great counter punch by Craft... we needed that
When was the last time we gave up 35? Twice last year?
Make sure we box out on this shot. Nothing more killer than having Ill get a second chance!
haha..............not our night
R u fucking kidding me
That is why we are losing. He cannot miss from anywhere.
Lighty would have shut him down
Did you see his last shot? You can't shut that down. Its his night.
BTW, that should have been a taunting T
Willie B. take notes (from Brandon Paul)
Fuck every random mediocre guard shooting the lights out against us when we play below average. Also, Meyers Leonard should have nine fouls if the rules were enforced, but that doesn't happen anywhere. I just wish I had confidence in us on a neutral court.
Illinois won't make it to the Big Dance.
Agreed, or they'll make it as a 12-seed/effective-play-in like they usually do. College basketball just frustrates me so much based on where the game is played.
I would love to crush them right now. Foul someone on a made 3. That is what I would love to see right now.
What is it about this team that so consistently brings out the best in its opponents?
This team just finds ways to lose. Maybe they mature as the year progresses, but at this point, on the road or in neutral sites, these guys lose in the face of adversity.
This team doesn't like playing on the road very much(not that anyone does) That shot was sick, not your night when stuff like that goes down.
Boy, its seems mighty easy to just let Sully take over. You wonder why we don't do that more?
Need some leadership.
Leadership? Are you kidding me? This kid drains 8/10 threes, most of which were highly contested and you're complaining about leadership? This is the best game he's ever played and will ever play.
It's been lacking all year. To me, it's the single biggest component lost from last year's team (David Lighty).
However, leadership is missing from the team as a whole, and it shows. Who's calming everyone down during crunch time? Who can we depend on when things get rough? Who is leading the team on the court? Who can we trust to make that last second shot? Hint: not William Buford -who should be the leader, as the lone senior on the team.
Lack of leadership is why we cannot close out close games like these. Look at last year: there were a lot of game we squeaked by and won. Why? We had seasoned vets, and leaders on the court who knew how to play those games.
Right now, this team is in the learning process. Coach Matta has said that multiple times throughout the season. Our biggest weakness is our immaturaity. Our younger players don't have a Lighty to learn how to practice, and how to bring it every day. That is where leadership comes into play.
This team just plays dumb at times.
That's game, as Craft gets tripped and stripped.
Typical last second turnover in crunch time.
Happy BDay Willie B
Craft fucks that kind of play up every single game going back to last year at Wisconsin. He ALWAYS loses control in crunch time.
Always? No. A lot of the time, especially recently? Yes.
We've only lost six times with Craft... In three of those losses he's done something exactly like that on one of our last gasp possessions to win.
Always was obviously an exaggeration, but when its half of the time the exaggeration is worthy.
I guess I'd be more inclinded to agree with you if you put it that way. It soundedl ike you were attack Craft. So, we lost 6 games with Craft and a few knucklehead turnovers that cost big time. How many did we win due to his heady play and FTs in the last few minutes of games, though?
Craft is a fucking idiot. Our ONLY minimal chance is taking a three, fouling and hoping they miss two. YOU IDIOT!
I wasn't going to be too mad about this loss until Craft at the end. Up until then it was all Paul going apeshit.
We didn't lose this on crafts turnover, we lost because the 9 minutes before that we played lazy, had poor transition defense, Buford performed his normal Buford and we continued to show we don't have any perimeter shooting.
We didn't lose on it, but boy it REALLY shut the door. I guess I expect more from a guy who is generally considered to be the best point guard in the Big Ten/maybe country.
Total complacency on a 10 point lead, and they let the Illini walk right back into the game. Hey, guys, maybe after Paul hits his 3rd or 4th 3 someone should be picking him up in transition, you think? Maybe we can exercise a little better shot selection instead of going for and missing 3s of our own. Maybe we can do a little better feeding Sully on the block and put some pressure on their big man, who is creeping into foul trouble...
Or maybe you can crap yourselves again and show the world how you're still a freakin' year away. Unless there is some major change, mark my word, this team gets bounced again in the sweet sixteen.
Matta great recruiter......BUT THE WORST IN GAME COACH I HAVE EVER SEEN.......yeah ill say it.....bring in calipari....Meyer>tressel. Calipari>matta
Calipari is bigger scum than Saban. Take that back.
i really don't want to have both teams reps hurts. the B Ball is just getting over the mess O'brian left.
LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL at you insuing our football team's rep was better before Urban came.
Callipari is trash, lord, are you insane?
this team comes up for big games, they'll do fine when the tourny comes around.
still have them as my favorite to win it all.
Which tourney, the NCAAs? The tourney where every Matta team except one has fallen in an upset, usually a huge upset?
Sometimes you get talented teams that for one reason or another can't seem to play up to their potential (e.g. Michigan State 2011). It might be time to accept that this is one of them.
The most "loud mouth, disrespect" poster on 11W.
I know I know.....just messing.....but cmon man I know That dude was hot but we should of been up ten even with him scoring 70 points
Well I'm going to say alot of things here, first of all kudos to Brandon Paul, he outplayed every player on that court tonight. 43 Pts, lights out from 3 point land. Buckeyes didn't have an answer for this kid tonight. Honestly, after watching OSU play like shit on the road basically every time, I don't think they deserve to be ranked in the top 10, and non deserving of a #1 seed in the Big Dance. This team is too young and they need more experience together on road games. Hopefully they are taking notes and are learning from every road loss this season. They won't last in the Big Dance if this continues. This is a very disappointing loss and I'm very upset with how our kids played tonight. If Brandon Paul wasn't on fire tonight, OSU would have come out with a win, but somebody ate their Wheaties this morning.
we can beat anybody at home but man we sure struggle on the road
Matta seriously may need to consider benching Buford just to light a fire under him. Tonight was a fluke in regards to Paul but the inconsistencies of Buford is very troubling. We are a young team and when our senior leader is coming up small in every big game it's going to lead to a quick exit in the tourney like last year. Sully is an All American, Thomas can light it up, Craft is a very good PG and the best defender in CBB but this team will only go as far as Buford takes them.
...again with the "this team will only go as far as Buford takes them."
...I agree and at this point anyway that spells T-R-O-U-B-L-E...Bu can not be relied on at this point and we'd be better off giving him a rest late in games. He's pressing and it shows.
"The minute I think I'm getting mellow, I'm retiring. Who ever heard of a mellow winner?" ~ Woody Hayes
The only comfort I take is that it usually takes career nights from the opposing team's best player (IU excluded) to beat us in the B1G. Last year it was Moore and Taylor. Now it's Paul. The Buckeyes responded nicely to Purdue and Wisc after losses last year. I'm eager to see how they fare against IU and Illinois when they come to Cbus. This team has fallen short of expectations thus far but it's early. The B1G feels like the Big East did the past two years. A lot of good teams who beat up on each other during the regular season but are battle tested come March. Unfortunately, for all the hype about the strength of the Big East going into the tournament last year, the conference fared pretty poorly as a whole, save for UConn. Hopefully, we get hot at the right time like UConn.
I'm concerned but not panicked...yet.
Final numbers for WB: 7/18 shooting, no free throws, 3 rebounds (in 37 minutes), 0 assists and 4 turnovers. Nice senior leadership there.
I thought 2011 was over?
Buford is becoming a huge disappointment.
"YOLO" = I'm about to do something extremely ignorant/stupid & I need an excuse to do it.
Buford absolutely sucks. There's no way to argue against that.
Illinois and IU are going to get housed next time around. Paul was talking to WB and Sully? Not a smart move. Payback is a bitch and I feel they will have to deal with it.
He should ask Taylor how that goes.
