Nebraska has their hands full with Fresno st. Lookin to go up 14-7.
Texas still looks down, BYU is playing better football.

Notre Dame wins the "retro" uniform battle today. Those UofM unis are atrocious.
the uofm cheerleaders are looking good
Jenks is fishing for the Clap, among other things. I'm telling you, with their cheerleaders it would be like throwing a hotdog down a hallway. And from what I saw, they weren't that cute.
-The Aristocrats!
Who to cheer for? When the game is over, the winner will be heralded for the next 3 weeks as "back to form" until they finally run into a team with a pulse and get shelacked. So, whether it's Michigan or Notre Dame who wins, it's more nausea for Buckeye fans.
Notre Dame all the way! I want Hoke to suffer...just for saying "Ohio"

My old man went to ND, so I have room in my heart for the Touchdown Jesus.
I say down with Fred Flintstone! Let's root for the Irish to take the luster off of the Wolverines' new "Michigan Man." (They seem to be doing pretty well so far.)

Irish look good so far

If this Rees kid keeps playing smart, there is no doubt NDs got this.
Denard better get his crap together or Michigan is going to get blown out by the freakin Irish.
looks like hoke got denard ready for "ohio" a little too early
all i could do was laugh when denard threw that INT, sooooooo bad
Me too, that was a LOL moment

has anyone been watching nebraska? what's their deal?
Over--rated clap clap clapclapclap
Potentially a bad day for the B1G: we barely win against Toledo, Purdue loses to Rice, Minnesota loses to NM State, Penn State gets spanked by Alabama, Michigan is currently being dominated by ND, and Brasky is struggling against Fresno.

But Wisconsin destroyed Oregon State...and Michigan St won handily too, the good teams are winning like they are supposed to.
You forgot about Indiana, who, while it is expected of them, is losing to Virginia.

Nevermind. (duplicate comment)

Iowa as well.
Fresno state is a good looking team, crisp offense. Explosive return guy. Nebraska is playing a competitive opponent

Sounds like Toledo, no?
No NCAA violations in Fresno though.

Does Notre Dame have a DE returning punts?
Let's face it, this isn't an unfamiliar feeling. I feel like every year we say "the big ten isn't having a good day" during the non conference schedule.

We knew Toledo was going to be tough. Did we think we'd have such an awful special teams performance, bad coaching, and wussified offensive attack? No

This pretty much summed it up. But I knew our field goal kicking would suck, and you know our punter takes too long to kick it but you never actually know when he's going to get one blocked.
I'll sleep better tonight if Nebraska, Michigan, and Texas all lose for some reason.

Our collective angst is all about, "The Buckeye Reflex." Meaning, your average Buckeye fan expects a national championship, every year. This was certainly the case when I met Woody, as an 8-year old Buckeye fan, way back in the Summer of 1974. He was peddling his book, "You Win With People", at the time.
I wonder if he chose that title, to assure the rest of America that Buckeye-folk - as rabidly-fanatical as we are - are, in fact, people.
Anyway, HE was in Walden Books at Southwyck Mall, in Toledo. I asked, "Are we gonna win the national championship, this year?!!?" He replied, in that whispery-Woody voice, "That's why we play football, at Ohya State."
The 2011 Buckeyes, to me, seem like an 8-4 bunch.
And lots of you guys, I suspect, are from and in C-Bus. I went to Ohio State. It's like a bubble, when it comes to Buckeye football.
If a lot of you guys balance the facts - namely - that this may not be a championship-quality team, against the fact that the Rockets are a pretty good team, life might be a little easier.
I think I'm gonna plunk twenty-bucks down and plunk my ass down in the Glass Bowl, next Friday night. Maybe UT will get it done against Boise.
For me it's not "Buckeye Reflex". I just want enough victories this season to ensure that Fickell gets a 3-4 year contract so he can prove he can coach this team.
Unfortunately, there's enough bozos in Buckeye Nation that if he doesn't at least go 10-2 then he's going to get axed. As seen by the calls for Meyer on this very thread.
/facepalm

Agreed, because everyone wants Urban. Unfortunately if we get Urban then we'll still need another coach in 3-4 years. Kids hold grocery store and fast food jobs longer than Urban Meyer. I don't want that man anywhere near this program.
lolwut?
Urban Meyer's coaching resume follows roughly 99 percent of most coaches out there. He did the assistant coach thing at Ohio State, Illinois State (promotion from lesser coach to QB coach), then to Colorado State, then to Notre dame. He got his first head coaching gig at Bowling Green, then offered a big upgrade to Utah, then ended up at Florida.
Look past the hatred for Meyer and what his Gators did to us in 2006 and you'll see that most every coach in the country, until they get locked into their dream job (Meyer has gone on record that said there are only two jobs his wife does not have veto power over, and that's Ohio State and Notre Dame) and they stay there.
I, for one, welcome our new coaching overlords.
Until he feels tired again, and quits again.
And as for putting my hatred for Meyer aside, I can't and I won't. His success here will always be compared to what he did at Florida. Ohio State has to be the place where coaches have their career success, not end up second best, which exactly the fear I have for Urban because his Florida standard will be so high. When he doesn't match it, it'll reflect poorly on this university. Just look at what is going on Notre Dame and Michigan. Granted, Urban is a better coach than those schools have had since their legends left, but I'm terrified the result will be the same.
Also agree. This looked like an effort problem. We know these kids are good talents. But if we blow a division championship and a Rose Bowl chance because we didn't get Braxton Miller enough time, there's going to be all sorts of facepalming.
I thought 10-2 was very realistic with the amount of talent we have this year, but that will never happen if it was coached like it was today. As Jim Mora would say they "Couldn't do diddly poo."
Remember, we barely prevailed over Cinci, in 2002.
I'm laughin' my balls off, right now!
Exactly!
Real fans stay for Carmen.
this umich game suddenly isn't as funny as it was an hour ago.
Notre Dame sure does know how to lose a ballgame, don't they?
Real fans stay for Carmen.
Oh Notre Dame you are silly...
Denard really isn't good.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Meh. Now we have to hear how great he and his heroism is for another few weeks.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
son. of. a. bitch.
notre dame looked like ohio state covering that screen.
Is this like the third year in a row that this has happened? Almost exactly...
This game is laughable.
haha sssshhhh michigan stadium.
Michigan defense still amazing
Much like last year, I feel like neither team is as good as people will think they are after this game.
LOL Much like that defense proves.
This was basically a battle of who's defense was less shitty. Robinson put the ball into coverage and double coverage so many times and got away with it on the big plays.
I, for one, welcome our new coaching overlords.
the sad part about this is denard will be viewed as a good player
What is up with Michigan taking our stadium chant (The White Stripes)? Lame.
Hahahah. I'm sorry but we stole that off like a hundred different fanbases. Pro and college. Primarily Penn State. It takes a pretty big homer to claim that as ours.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Penn State uses Zombie Nation. Thanks.
Sigh. They were using Seven Nation Army far before us (correct, they also use Zombie Nation.) So were a bunch of teams in a lot of places. But sure, if it makes you sleep tonight, it can be "our" chant.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Nice tact. Calling me a homer. Endless sarcasm. Stay classy.
I'm pretty big homer to if it makes you feel any better. I just can't say that that chant is "ours" as much as I'd love to. Maybe I'm in an arugment picking mood I guess, but I can't say I'm incorrect on this one.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
And I never meant that we were pioneers, let alone with that exact song. Comes off as being a follower if you pick the exact same song as your rival, though. After having been to enough games with the White Stripes playing at the Shoe, I associate it with our Buckeyes, and it grated on me that I heard it at Michigan Stadium. That's all.
Really! But what do you expect from a hokey team with hokey fans and a Hokey coach (hey, we should call him "Hokey" until he starts calling us "Ohio State")?
"There's a fine line between perception and reality." -- Luke Fickell
Once again. Not our chant. Not even close.
October 20th: National Kenneth Guiton Day
Yeah, Penn State definitely used it before us. They stopped using it because we started using it and they basically loathe anything we do. You will still hear it in their stadium from time to time, but the actual participation from their fanbase is far less.
Definitely not our chant.
I, for one, welcome our new coaching overlords.
I remember a few years ago when penn state started using it a lot. They were desperately trying to make that (seven nation army) a tradition for penn state. Later that year we traveled to happy valley and beat them and towards the end of the game our fans "stole" it and started chanting it. It was "ours" ever since.
i wouldn't have expected a worse play to end that game
Off topic but that picture is what I would think the devil would look like. Interesting that he is the coach of a Catholic college.
go bucks
Party at my House tonight. 114,000 are having Irish stew.
I'm still trying to figure out if Bri'onte Dunn was doing an official visit. That would have been nice.
Anyway, four 4th Quarter td's:
Touchdown. Touchdown. Touchdown. Touchdown. Jesus.
Postscript: The rumored Bri'onte Dunn visit did not materialize. But Bri'onte's cousin, Dymonte Thomas (2013 - Ath.) did visit. And he committed to Michgan:
http://mgoblog.com/content/hello-future-dymonte-thomas
I hate how michigan sees this as them being "back." Both teams had awful defenses and worse, denard will rise in heisman rankings because throwing uner 50% with 3 INTs is a "great" performance. 3 of his big plays would've been picked off if the ND DBs had ANY ball skills
we just need to breathe, and wait for his big ten collapse.
