College bowl season begins this weekend and you know that means one thing: It's time for the Eleven Warriors Bowl Mania Contest!
We've set up our own Bowl Mania league on ESPN for all of you to join, but you may not even want to bother as yours truly already has the title locked up. In all seriousness though, this should be a fun little contest going on and trash talk is certainly welcomed. In addition to getting bragging rights amongst 11W Nation, the winner will also receive a JUPMode Prize pack with some Buckeye swag for your liking.
To sign up just go to the Bowl Mania site and create an entry. After you do that you can join our group and use the following information:
Link: http://games.espn.go.com/bowlmania/en/group?groupID=13414
League Name: 11W Password: tresselball
It's really that simple and if you have any issues you are banned from this site for life. Just kidding, as you shouldn't have any issues, but if you do e-mail me at alex@elevenwarriors.com. Make sure you include e-mail information in your entry so we can contact you if you're lucky enough to win. We look forward to seeing who comes out on top this year and wish a best of luck to all.

it's on!
I love how the Hippie profiles OSU fans several times in his This Year in Schadenfraude retrospective, including an 11W comment about OSU fans being drunken idiots, and yet in the way of Michigan's depressing year only mentions some self-promoting and waxing poetical dong punching post that he did for Mgoblog, without further profiling the sad, sick mess that was the UM fanbase that nearly tore itself apart over Dick Rod this year. But that's par for the course for the Hippie, who locks down his blog to shut out dissent. Move along folks, 5-7, bottom of the Big 10 for back to back years and the first time in 45 years, but we've got to keep up appearances that Michigan fans are sensible and therefore not worthy of a Schadenfreude expose. Instead, let's try to mock the outright Big 10 champs as much as we can.
Enjoy the bowl season, Maize and Blue.
+ eleventy billion
This may result in a major FAIL for me.
que?
Ease up on the border-crossing dude
My selections aren't usually on point.
me either, especially with the confidence rating thing.
i pick too much with my heart rather than head when it comes to college ball.
Excerpt from, "Big Ten serious about expansion, but risks could outweigh benefits" (Stewart Mandel - SI.com):
The guess here is that if this decision were entirely up to Delany, his list of "recommendations for consideration" would continue to consist of one, uninterested party (Notre Dame). He'd tell the presidents that moving the Ohio State-Michigan game and maybe Penn State's conference finale to the first weekend of December would accomplish the same goals as a title game. (See the Big East, which garnered a huge TV rating for this year's Cincinnati-Pittsburgh finale.)

Has anyone unearthed the "rationale" for not adding two teams in 1993?
Because the 11 in the BigTen Logo looked better than then the prototype containing the number 12
They probably wanted Notre Dame from the outset and got spurned, behind closed doors. Then - when they got a formerly-independent PSU and thought they could use them to lure the Irish - the B11 got spurned, publicly.
Now, with the Big Ten Network, ND/NBC sees a conflict of interest, I'm sure. Unless, there's some merger-like scenario, yet imagined.
ND is the ultimate "profit motive." Everybody knows it. If it did happen, you'd certainly bag New York...and more than a few other markets.
Maybe ND will join if we call it the Notre Dame Conference and give them 80% of the revenues.
