Hagan Makes Eleven

The Buckeyes continue their march up the recruiting rankings as Chad Hagan becomes the eleventh member of the Class of 2010, according to multiple sources. Hagan, 6-1, 210, is a safety from Canonsburg, Pennsylvania and committed to the Buckeyes over offers from Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, UNC, and others.

There are expected to be anywhere from 16-19 recruits in OSU's 2010 class and top targets like Jordan Hicks, Lamarcus Joyner, Seantrel Henderson, Matt James, Joshua Shaw, and others still remain on board. It will be interesting to see who fills out this class, but there probably won't be much noise until after the USC game on September 12.

There is no way we don't leave 3 spots open for Joyner, Hendo and Hicks.

I can see this pushing Bryant and Hankins to make up there mind quickly. Hankins just came to C-Bus on Tuesday and was very happy when he left. I think him and Tress have a another meeting in place and seems as though he is favoring the Buckeyes so our 12th Verbal could come quickly. (I know Hankins isn't a guy that will get too many people excited, but landing a 300 pound DT whos really athletic would be awesome reguardless of him only having 3 stars...)

Bryant seems like he's all Buckeye, but he better pull the trigger here soon.

Alex - Do you think picking up Chad, holding out for Joyner, Shaw looking like he could be a legit pickup for the Buckeyes, Bryant already having an offer and looking like a Buckeye... is it time for us Anderson fans to finally call his recruitment a wrap?

Wow. At safety, anywhere close to that time is a bullet.

That came at Scout's Pittsburgh Combine. I think everyone who goes to that combine puts up absurd numbers. If I recall correctly, Stoneburner put up a 4.46 at that same combine and, while fast, Stoneburner is not that fast.

If that is in fact where the time was done then I too doubt it's legit. The Pitt Combine runs the 40 with a wristband? and it negtorious for putting up bad numbers, both to the good and to the bad.

Either way, he's a quick kid.

I think Hagan could be a bit a of a gamble. Great athlete would could be awesome, but isn't great at anyone spot - why he's a 3 star. I like the gamble though with him and possibly Hankins as well because if it works out then you've got 2 FANTASTIC players and with the last 2 classes we've had...we can afford to make the gamble.

Thread Jack, but GI Joe was awesome, (but no Shipwreck).

Yeah I think Anderson is done....I think his most recent comments have shown that....I say you'll get Bryant in this class and then one of the two-Joyner or Shaw...both would be HUGE at CB and both will be in attendance Sept 12.....I think Joyner will be the guy though as his internal decision between heart (FSU) and head (OSU) will in the end go to his head and OSU where he can grow to be a man like he has said he wants to do and play where you play if you want to be an NFL DB......I also think our chances with Henderson are much better than we think too (or at least I hope)

Rivals has him at a more believable, but still quick 4.4

I know we're looking young at LB right now, but losing Hicks would be a shame. Not often you get that kind of talent an hour away. Seems to be an anti-OSU sentiment in Cincy at times.

It'd be really nice to get Matt James as well.

Cincy is not pleased with Columbus surpassing it as the playing card capital of the great lakes region.

per rivals: "Hagan confirmed his size is 6-foot-2, 230 pounds and he runs a 4.3 40-yard dash, which is surely an impressive set of numbers for his position. At his high school, he also plays running back."

maybe he'll get a shot at RB?

I don't think that's the case. A lot of the really good players from Cincy end up at Ohio State. There do have a lot of really good football players down this way though. I know a lot of the kids from Moeller, St. X, and Elder take a look at Notre Dame and end up there. Hicks may be tough to get because of his connections in Texas, but Posey was from Cincinnati, an. It's not like we never land big talent from there. Also, it's getting harder to recruit in Cincy with UC getting better and having a coach like Brian Kelly. I'm not saying they are a powerhouse, but now kids can stay home and get noticed, where it wasn't a viable option before.

That would be a rather large running back but Beanie was close to that size. What if he gains 20 lbs and keeps the speed. He would be one incredible middle linebacker.
