The Palestra was on hand when Tressel stopped by to visit the airmen at Wright Patterson AFB, ahead of his visit to the Middle East next month. Though I'm having a hard time envisioning Maverick in the head coach, Marcus Freeman is dead-on Louis Gossett Jr when he's sitting in an F-16.

Freeman as Louis Gossett Jr. = Classic
he just wanted to fly in on of the f-16s to get an idea of what SEC speed (tm) is like
You mean to tell me we can't get the coach of THE Ohio State Buckeyes into an F-22? What's this world coming to?
EDIT: Tampa originally posted something about politics, but that's the first rule of 11W Buckeye Fight Club: No Political talk.
F-22's are not based at WPAFB. The technology for them was developed there though. They sometimes fly in and out but I have never seen them. Just F-16's. C-5's and C-130's.
My bad.
Holy crap, really? I totally guessed that was an F-16 and nailed it.
No biggie. We hate both parties equally around these parts.
Last line of the post probably didn't have any clues or anything... ;)
Well, I found the picture originally on BuckeyeXtra this morning, then, remembering that I'd read F-14s had been discontinued, I figured F-16s were state-of-the-art these days. I was right. I think.
The f-22 and the F/A 18 Hornet make the f-16 not so state of the art nowadays. The f-16 is more of an all around attack fighter. It has probably been the most widely used fighter of our overseas wars of late.
Good to know. I have a friend who's heading into the air force, next time we meet up I'll be sure to impress him by dropping this new-found knowledge
what a classy, positive leader, that Jim Tressel!
about a third of the time i'm going down the very last bit of 675, one of those hugeass C-130s ends up flying about 200 feet over my head and scares the hell out of me
