It looks like Coach Tressel is doing his part to help convince Mike Conley, Greg Oden and Daequan Cook to stay in school. Conley has been named an honorary head coach for Saturday's Spring Game and the rest of the hoops squad will be on hand, except for Oden, who will instead attend his auntie's wedding.
The hoopsters will actually call the plays, according to the SI.com article, and Conley appears to have his offensive gameplan ready:"I play my share of video games," he said Wednesday. "I like to get up and down the field with the passing game. I'll mix in some run plays here and there as well."
The article says Tress came up with the idea and it's clear he's hoping it will have an impact on Conley and Daequan Cook based on his comments:
"I certainly want them around here. If we have to put them on the staff to do that, then we'll do it," he said with a grin.
As for the game itself, The O-Zone has your Scarlet and Gray rosters.

Perhaps they should put Cook on defense. I can hear him now "How do I score?" and "You mean I have to play on THIS side of the ball?" "What is this thing you guys keep saying...DEFENSE? What is that?"
They should let Cook call some defensive plays. He could invent the statue of liberty defense.
C'mon now...You guys are gonna turn me into a full fledged Cook apologist if he comes back...Although I cant argue with your asessement of his on-ball defense...
I am picturing it now. Conley's dad on the big screen with a caption about him being in the olympics. On another note buckeye secondary were all spotted in Best Buy playing John Madden football learning all the plays Conley might throw at them.
In my opinion, Cook is getting some bad avice from his camp. Seems like they are all pushing him to the NBA. His mother even said she was unhappy with Matta due to Cook's playing time. Yeah, Matta is a terrible coach...he only got them to the finals. What a sh*tty job!
His mom needs to realize this isn't HS anymore and he should have played for the Dayton flyers if he wanted to jack up 30 shots and play no d. That squad was loaded and he got the pt he deserved. I think he would have played better if he played more, but at what expense. A couple losses...Thad don't roll like that.
ps-From what I've seen Conley can start at QB and call the plays while under center!
The Buckeyes will be wearing VT logos on their helmets for the spring game.
