OSU Starts Fast, Sputters Late In 64-62 Win

A game like this is all it takes to see why OSU can win it all or lose in the second round of the tourney to an inferior opponent. The Buckeyes jumped on Penn State early en route to a 40-19 halftime lead but fell asleep midway through the second half. Leading 54-33 with 7 minutes to go, OSU surrendered a 29-10 run down the stretch and hung on for dear life in the 64-62 victory.

Greg Oden finished with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks while Jamar Butler had 11 points 6 assists and 4 rebounds. Ron Lewis hit double figures with 12 points and 5 assists and Daequan Cook chipped in 11 points in 18 minutes. OSU assisted on 18 of 22 field goals made and outrebounded PSU 36-31. Typing about the game right now will only fuel my aggravation so I will defer to the experts for the time being.

I hate the effort the Bucks gave.

Get the ball to the big man when you're stugglin'.

It reminds me of a a '78 Fresno Dead show when Bobby was on a 72 hour acid/coke bender and they decided to go with a Jerry-dominated 2nd set/closer to save the show.

Stop crankin' up 3's and get the rock to G.O.!

PSU students didn't care whether they won or got 10 Oden dunks

"We need more leadership from the guys who have been through it," Matta said. "I don't say that in a negative way; those guys are just a little bit more quiet or different and have never been thrust into that role. But I do know this, (former Ohio State guard) Je'Kel Foster would have busted somebody upside the head at some point today."

I thin that's a little on the coach as well. Can't be positive and nice all of the time, Mr. Matta.

No doubt, sometimes the coach has gotta bust someone's a@#. Although a player does need to step it up on the court. Butler has the most tatoos so I vote for him to do it. Seriously I don't think Lewis/Butler/Harris are those type of players. Before the season I figured it would be Lewis, but he's too busy launching 25 footers. They have some major issues that keep coming back, but a road win is a road win.

I think it goes without saying that Turdwiggler is going to need to split a nose or two before the Big11Ten Tourney starts..
