The tailgate formerly known as Eat Too Brutus is back!

The 5th Annual Eleven Dubgate will be held on Sept 27 prior to the Cincinnati game: A perfect College Football Saturday, the best BBQ in Columbus, a beer truck with five taps to bottomless kegs - and 11W readers and writers consuming it all for a great cause.

Read up on the details and we'll see you Sept 27. No, we can't wait either.

No Gold Pants Social Part Deux???

Not that I would be able to afford to go this year, but last year was awesome... Did it just not get enough attention as you thought? I hope my selfie with Orlando Pace's Lombardi trophy didn't have anything to do with it...

The first man gets the ((((Oyster)))), the second man gets the shell.

No Gold Pants Social Part Deux???

Couple of things -

1) The Gold Pants Club wants to do it Michigan weekend this season since it's a home game. This is a little complicated on Black Friday/Thanksgiving, but we're trying to figure it out.

2) Ohio State doesn't want us to call it "The Gold Pants Social" even though they have don't own the mark, and we held the event with the, um, actual Gold Pants Club with written permission from the Gold Pants Club. So there's that too.

In the meantime: Eleven Dubgate, Eleven Dubgate, Eleven Dubgate.

jeremytwoface's picture

Damn you, Ohio State lawyers... Sounds like they need a new hobby.

Well I hope you get it figured out so that other people can enjoy the event as much as I did last year.

Either way, the Dubgate will be bitchin'.

The first man gets the ((((Oyster)))), the second man gets the shell.

I think Jonathan Waters will be giving those OSU lawyers something to do very soon...

How about "The No Pants Social", or does that belong to the band?

Too soon?

Italics are for emphasis.

Can't name it that unless you want Mike Hart to show up.

Here is my question, what does the Gold Pants Society have to say about the name?  I realize it would be playing with fire (press passes, credentials being pulled, etc) but at what point in time do you ignore what OSU wants when they have no legal claim to it in the first place?

+1 HS
jeremytwoface's picture

Slippery slope is what I would think.

I'm sure that 11W doesn't really have the funds to go to battle with OSU's legal staff.... Whether OSU has a legal claim or not. OSU is basically being just a big bully pushing a smaller kid around in my opinion.

The first man gets the ((((Oyster)))), the second man gets the shell.

I have a wedding....

Nothing like dancing on the field in 02...

Luckily, that won't preclude you from making a donation to a very good cause, will it.

Just tell them that you will make it to their next one; that's what I always do.

Can't attend this year.  But I'll be there in spirit.  err, I mean drinking spirits.  At a wedding.  Fuckers.

Eat Too is Dead. Long Live Eat Too!!! I went to the event two years ago and had an absolute blast, and I love the fact that my ugly mug is in the top pic and on the FB page (same pic i believe) so go and give your hard earned money!! I may even get a third job just so I can give more money this year!

I will be there again this year. Boom. Now you're incentivized.

I'm looking forward to making my Dubgate debut. The event should be - as my "favorite writer" would put it - a real banger.

Are the details nailed down for the Friday Night Banger???

-The Aristocrats!

Jason Priestas's picture

See Ramzy's comment above – we're looking at the Friday of Michigan weekend for that.

GoBucks713's picture

Yeah I saw that, I was just wondering if there was going to be something the night before at a local watering hole. Thanks Jason!

-The Aristocrats!

Jason Priestas's picture

Oh, sorry. I misunderstood you, then. We are working on something for Friday night, but still need to lock a few things down.

GoBucks713's picture

Cool. Thanks again and for everything that you and the staff do around these parts! Also, if you guys need, I can lock down parking behind Panera Saturday for a few cars if you guys need.

I was going to ask the same question. Are kids allowed?

Ramzy Nasrallah's picture

All the information you need about the tailgate is in the link at the top of the page.

Doc's picture

I'm sorry Ramzy, I couldn't find an age requirement.  Will my ten year old be able to get in?

"Say my name."

Ramzy Nasrallah's picture

Huh, that must have gotten trimmed in one of the edits. Thanks for pointing it out.

There's a beer truck and a liquor license involved, which makes it a >21 event.

IN. 40 bucks is the steal of the century. Thank you 11W.

I know there's a game Saturday, and my ass will be there.

Also, i'll be parking behind the Panera, so if a car is needed to grab supplies, the staff are more than welcome to it if you aren't parked closer.

I've always wanted to attend. Senior year, finally old enough to legally consume alcohol... pretty hyped for this.

When I walked in this morning and saw the flag was at half mast I thought, "Alright, another bureaucrat ate it." but then I saw it was Li'l Sebastian. Half mast is too high. Show some damn respect.

Can we crash at your place if we are unable to drive?  I'll regale you with war stories, some of them might possibly be true.

I thought about going last year with a T-shirt that said "Bucksfan" and on the back "Change Your Icon?"

But I didn't want any of you crazies knowing my true identity.

I like pissing off authority.  I think I'll buy an 11W shirt, and have Eat Too Brutus and Gold Pants Club printed on the back. To wear for the day.  Nuts to the lawyers!

Go Bucks!

v65animal's picture

I don't like beer, do they have anything else? Wine, coolers, mixed drinks? Sweet Tea, lemonade? If I'm not drinking alcohol, can I donate less without being frowned upon?

Go Bucks!

Jason Priestas's picture

There will be non-alcoholic beverages, like water, probably some soda. You can always BYO-wine coolers or whatever else you prefer.

BucksfanXC's picture

That's my birthday weekend. I think it's a sign. Everyone better bring me a gift!

You should set up a gofundme page for those of us out of state. I would put in $40 for Downs.
