As Ohio State spring football practice continues, the battle to fill the void left by Kyle McCord's departure rages on. Will last year's runner-up Devin Brown reclaim the position he assumed for the Cotton Bowl, or will one of the recent transfers to Columbus supplant the longer-tenured Buckeyes for the starting role?

The answer to that question remains no clearer at the dawn of April, despite Will Howard officially losing his black stripe late last week. Johnny and I take it upon ourselves to explore the latest developments from practice courtesy of reports from the Eleven Warriors beat, and make inferences on what the current state of each candidacy may spell for the outlook of the Buckeye offense.

Additionally the Dubcast discussion also covers:

  • Men's basketball season has finally come to a close after a disappointing result in the NIT quarterfinals. Why did it have to be Georgia?
  • As we bid farewell to Jamison Battle and Scotty Middleton, a perimeter shooting void looms on Ohio State's roster ahead of next season. How will Jake Diebler fill it during his first offseason as head coach?
  • The Buckeyes have hired Carlos Locklyn to replace Tony Alford! Will the former Oregon running backs coach fit right in with Chip Kelly?
  • Ask Us Anything! — writers to dubcast@elevenwarriors.com this week inquired about many topics, such as which coach has the harder job in Ann Arbor heading into next season between Sherrone Moore and Dusty May?
  • Another week, another national title for Ohio State Athletics! Congratulations to Ohio State diver Lyle Yost on his win in the pool at NCAA Championships!
  • Speaking of, "another week, another x," Georgia football players keep getting arrested for vehicular infractions. When will Kirby Smart finally decide enough is enough?
  • NFL Draft silly season is in full swing, from the great gassing up of J.J. McCarthy to attempted slights at Marvin Harrison Jr.'s draft stock. Why does it feel as though the media continues to assail the top prospects out of Columbus on a now-nearly annual basis?
