Here on the Dubcast, we were fairly well convinced that our top story this week would be a running backs coach turned traitor, and we'd riff on that for about an hour, ignore Ohio State losing in the Big Ten Tournament, and boom, Dubcast done.

Instead, Ohio State pulled off the interesting (and potentially underwhelming?) move of hiring Jake Diebler as the men's basketball coach, which is... fine. It's fine. George and I don't love it, not because of anything wrong with Diebler, but more because of the idea that this is a basketball at something of a crossroads, and maybe it's a better idea to bring in a guy who has coached more than a grand total of eight games in his career.

But we'll get some more data soon, because later today the Buckeyes will find themselves in the thick of the NIT, and here's hoping they continue to show out for their new HC.

Also: women's basketball gets a 2-seed and a good draw, happy trails to Juwan Howard, Justin Fields to Pittsburgh, women's hockey, Mark Coleman, Einstein, James Dean, Brooklyn's got a winning team, Davy Crockett, Peter Pan, Elvis Presley, Disneyland!

  • The Illinois loss was dumb, in large part because the refs took over the second half and Ohio State lost
  • Jake Diebler isn't really being asked to "prove it" anytime soon, and it looks like Ohio State men's basketball is in for a multi-year experiment
  • March Madness! Please be actually mad (as in, crazy, not angry)!
  • Women's basketball gets a good tourney draw, despite fumbling the bag against Maryland
  • Ask Us Anything - which you can do at dubcast@elevenwarriors.com - wants to know about crypto, but we don't know anything about money! This is not financial advice and should not be construed as such! We're dumb!
  • Well... bye Tony Alford
  • Oh, also Chris Holtmann gets hired, immediately sours us on him
  • Justin Fields gets a new start, and in my opinion will get some opportunities
  • Shout out to Mark Coleman, badass

And that'll do it! Thanks to you for listening and checking out the Dry Goods store, and we'll see you next week!
