Trust is a big thing in college football, and no position requires and receives more of it than the quarterback. Kyle McCord didn't lose the Michigan game by himself; he made some critical mistakes and didn't play at his best, but ultimately it's up to everyone at Ohio State (from Ryan Day on down) to get the Buckeyes over the hump against Michigan.

With that said, it's also easy to see why Ohio State played so conservatively against the Wolverines from the jump, in a game when they absolutely couldn't afford to do that. With an offensive line underperforming against a touch defensive front, and a quarterback not able to go through his progressions, it was incredibly difficult for Day to be creative. So this week the Dubcast takes a brief, fleeting look at the Michigan loss (like looking into the sun, if we stare too long it'll burn our retinas), and then you know what? Screw it, basketball is fun! Let's talk about that!

  • Ryan Day has a Michigan problem
  • Kyle McCord didn't play especially well, but neither did his offensive line
  • J.J. McCarthy ended up being the difference in the game
  • Orange Bowl, hooray?
  • Who might be opting out
  • Ask Us Anything, which you can do at dubcast@elevenwarriors.com, is going to rely on yours truly for all sports prognostication from now on. That is a terrible idea.
  • Men's basketball! They're good! And fun! You should watch them.
  • BAMA AIN'T PLAYED NOBODY

And that'll do it! Life is briefly terrible but hey: redemption is only a year away. Thanks for listening and checking out the Dry Goods store, thanks to our sponsor OneMedical, and we'll see you next week!
