Ryan Day already feels he has a strong list of candidates to fill the void left by Tony Alford's departure for Michigan. That comes as no shock.

Ohio State boasts what Day believes to be the best running back room in the country, and it's hard to disagree with TreVeyon Henderson and Quinshon Judkins in tow. More curious is his statement that development will be the leading factor in choosing Alford's successor.

The Buckeye headman also gave updates Tuesday on key position battles along the offensive line and at tight end, giving lofty praise to right tackle Josh Fryar and tight end Gee Scott Jr.

We also learned Tuesday that special teams duties are being divided up among Ohio State's assistant coaches after the Buckeyes fired special teams coordinator Parker Fleming this offseason and didn't hire a replacement for his position. The idea to have position coaches lead the special teams coaching alongside Day was inspired by none other than Jim Tressel.

After hearing from Day on these topics, Eleven Warriors’ Dan Hope and Andy Anders shared their thoughts from the press conference in a new episode of Press Coverage, which you can watch in the video above.
