Press Coverage: Excitement of Ohio State’s New Transfers Evident in First Interview Sessions As Buckeyes

Ohio State’s new transfers aren’t having much trouble getting acclimated to life as Buckeyes.

Each of Ohio State’s five non-freshman transfer additions met with the media for their first interview sessions as Buckeyes on Tuesday, and all of them seemed comfortable and genuinely excited to be in Columbus.

“I'm just so grateful to be here,” former Kansas State quarterback Will Howard said. “Just in this building, it's a blessing. It really is. I got to pinch myself every day that I get to come to work here.”

Howard opened up about his journey from his four years at Kansas State to becoming a Buckeye for his final season of college football. Former Alabama safety Caleb Downs talked about the roles he could play on both defense and special teams as a safety and punt returner and about receiving more than 100 phone calls in eight hours after entered the portal.

Former Alabama center Seth McLaughlin talked about his willingness to play anywhere on the offensive line. Former Ole Miss running back Quinshon Judkins talked about how the chance to compete for a national championship drove his decision to become a Buckeye. Former Ohio tight end Will Kacmarek said “it’s a dream come true” to now be playing at the highest level of college football.
