An Ohio State defensive tackle target in the 2025 class has narrowed down his recruitment.

Four-star New Jersey prospect Maxwell Roy released a top six on Wednesday consisting of Ohio State, Michigan, Duke, Oregon, Rutgers and Wisconsin.

The 6-foot-3, 270-pound Roy was offered by OSU on May 15 then later visited Columbus in October to attend the Buckeyes’ game against Maryland. Per 247Sports’ composite rankings, he’s considered the 146th-ranked prospect and the 17th-best defensive lineman.

A visit to OSU sometime this spring is likely the next step for Roy, who aims to make a decision by early summer.

Roy attends St. Joseph’s Prep School (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania), the same high school that produced Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. and former quarterback Kyle McCord.

Kaliq Lockett, Jordan Davison and Landon Rink lock in spring visits with OSU

Three important targets for Ohio State’s 2025 recruiting class have all officially scheduled spring visits to Ohio State.

Four-star running back Jordon Davison, the No. 1-rated running back in the country, will visit OSU on March 27, four days after he plans to visit Alabama. Davison, along with Marquise Davis and Bo Jackson, is a priority target for the Buckeyes at running back in the current cycle.

“I was actually an Ohio State fan growing up,” Davison said in June after attending an OSU recruiting camp. “So I always knew about the big tradition of the running backs at OSU. I know a lot about (OSU running backs) coach Tony Alford, he’s been here for nine years and with all the backs he’s developed, it shows.”

Four-star wide receiver Kaliq Lockett plans to visit Ohio State, Florida State, LSU and Penn State in the spring, with his Columbus trip coming on March 23. Lockett is a top-35 player in the country and has a significant interest in OSU.

“Man, it’s THE Ohio State,” Lockett told Eleven Warriors in December of his offer. “Do I really need to say too much? Ohio State is known for putting guys in the NFL at multiple positions and known for being successful outside of football. It’s just a blessing to be offered by Ohio State. You have to understand, man, I’m pumped.

“(Coach Hartline) basically told me that I have what it takes to be a receiver at Ohio State. He loves my film and loves my personality. And I love his personality as well, he’s a great, great guy.”

Four-star Texas defensive tackle Landon Rink plans to visit Ohio State, Texas A&M and Oklahoma in the spring with his visit to Columbus coming March 18. That trip will be Rink’s first visit to Columbus, as OSU battles the Aggies and Sooners for his commitment.

Jahkeem Stewart puts Buckeyes in top 15

The No. 1 recruit in the 2026 class has started to (very slightly) narrow down his recruitment. Five-star defensive tackle Jahkeem Stewart released a top 15 on Tuesday consisting of Ohio State, LSU, Penn State, Georgia, Texas A&M, Auburn, USC, Texas, Tennessee, Florida State, Miami, Oregon, Colorado, Alabama and Michigan.

Stewart was offered by OSU in November. The 6-foot-6, 270-pound prospect plays both defensive tackle and defensive end for St. Augustine (New Orleans, Louisiana). He racked up 20 sacks, 85 tackles (33 for loss) and six forced fumbles this season.

Chris Henry Jr. transfers to Mater Dei

Does it count as breaking “the Mater Dei curse” if Ohio State’s lone commit in the 2026 class plays there?

Earlier this week, Chris Henry Jr., a former Withrow product, announced he’s transferring to the California powerhouse.

Henry, considered the No. 3 ranked prospect in the 2026 class and the No. 1-rated wideout, also committed last week to play in the 2025 Under Armour All-America Game.

The 6-foot-5, 185-pound wideout committed to OSU on July 28.

“I was ready,” Henry said after his commitment. “When I talked to Coach Day, it was like no point in waiting anymore. … It’s just hard to turn down. It’s perfect for me and it fits me.”
