While last weekend wasn’t the most star-studded recruiting weekend of the season at Ohio Stadium, there were still plenty of intriguing prospects on hand to watch the Buckeyes dismantle Minnesota 37-3 in their home regular season finale.
Three 2025 prospects left Columbus with an offer in hand, one on offense and two on the defensive side of the ball. We’ll break down each of the offers below.
Talyn Taylor
Four-star Illinois wide receiver Talyn Taylor is the most highly touted prospect of the three per 247Sports’ composite rankings, as he’s considered the 95th-rated player and the 15th-best wide receiver in the 2025 class. He was offered after a conversation with Ryan Day on his Columbus visit.

The 6-foot, 165-pound Taylor has earned 22 Division I offers thus far, including Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Kansas State, Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Tennessee, UCLA, USC, Utah and Wisconsin.
In his junior year, Taylor caught 32 passes for 512 yards and six touchdowns. He also was an efficient passer on occasion, as he completed 10 of 13 passes for 150 yards and four touchdowns while also returning kickoffs and punts.
As a sophomore, he had 45 catches for 660 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging 22.1 yards on seven kickoff returns.
Messiah Delhomme
Delhomme is a four-star safety from Virginia and is considered to be the 227th-best player and 15th-rated safety in the 2025 class.
The 6-foot-1, 196-pound prospect has 16 Division I offers, including Alabama, Florida State, Michigan, Liberty, James Madison, Maryland, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

Delhomme is a full two-way player for Warwick High School (Newport News, Virginia) and was an All-District selection on both offense and defense this season. In his sophomore year, Delhomme registered 61 tackles, 2.5 sacks and a whopping eight interceptions, two of which were returned for touchdowns. Offensively, he recorded 74 carries for 827 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns while catching 28 passes for 575 yards and three receiving scores.
Jarquez Carter
Carter is a three-star defensive tackle out of Florida and while he doesn’t hold a composite ranking as of yet, his offer sheet includes 15 Division I schools. Schools that have offered the 6-foot-2, 284-pound Carter include Louisville, Miami, Michigan, Notre Dame and Penn State.

This season, Carter recorded 60 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, eight sacks and 14 quarterback hurries. As a sophomore, Carter totaled 78 tackles, 23 tackles for loss, 10 sacks, eight quarterback hits, two pass breakups and a forced fumble.
LeBron James gives Jeremiah Smith a shoutout
One month from today, National Signing Day will arrive. Ohio State expects five-star wide receiver Jeremiah Smith’s National Letter of Intent to arrive that day, even as it’ll have to fend off aggressive pushes from the likes of Florida State and Florida over the next couple of weeks as both fight like hell to get him to flip.
Ohio State had arguably its most famous fan in its corner on Monday, as LeBron James unexpectedly gave the No. 1 ranked prospect in the 2024 class a shoutout on social media.

Jordan Seaton includes Ohio State in top 7
The top remaining uncommitted offensive tackle in the 2024 class, five-star prospect Jordan Seaton, trimmed his school list to seven on Friday. The schools that made the cut are Ohio State, Maryland, Tennessee, Oregon, Colorado, Florida and Alabama.

As you can probably tell from the placement of this section in the article, the prospects of him coming to Ohio State shouldn’t be taken too seriously considering he did not make an official visit to Columbus this fall. Unless he decides to take an official visit in December, the Buckeyes should probably just be considered a hat on the table at this point.
Tyler Redmond commits to Tennessee
An Ohio State cornerback target in the 2025 class is off the board. Three-star Georgia prospect Tyler Redmond committed to Tennessee on Sunday, choosing the Volunteers over Ohio State, Texas A&M, North Carolina State and UCF.

Redmond visited Ohio State this fall on Oct. 21 for the Penn State game but ultimately went in a different direction. Ohio State’s defensive back room for the 2025 class could be unheralded, though with the commitment of Blake Woodby already secure and the fact the Buckeyes are considered the favorite for five-star prospect Devin Sanchez ahead of his Jan. 6 commitment date.
