One of Ohio State’s wide receiver targets in the 2025 class enjoyed his first visit to Columbus for the Maryland game on Oct. 7.

While on his visit, three-star Georgia prospect Edward Coleman came away impressed with the Buckeyes’ stadium, coaching staff and on-field performance in the 37-17 win over the Terps.

“It was a great visit,” Coleman told Eleven Warriors. “I had a great experience and felt comfortable. Knowing I was a long way from home, I was alright with that. Because it feels like a home away from home. From what I’ve seen, I really like campus a lot. The stadium is different from every stadium I’ve been to because it looks like ancient Rome from the outside. Almost looks like some type of Roman Colosseum.”

While on his visit, Coleman witnessed Marvin Harrison Jr. light up the stat sheet with eight receptions for 163 yards and a touchdown.

“I definitely think I can see myself being part of that group one day,” Coleman said. “It was cool to see (Ohio State’s wide receivers play well) with my own eyes.”

Coleman had an opportunity to speak with Ohio State offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach Brian Hartline in pregame and postgame, which was a productive experience for the Georgia pass-catcher.

“I spoke with him before the game and after the game,” Coleman said. “He was asking me about my recent leg injury, and we talked about some different things and the work he’s done with the wide receivers there. I also talked to (Devin Jordan), and he was telling me what to pay attention to as far as the wide receivers in the game and how everything works and stuff like that. He told me to pay attention to how they react to facing adversity, blocking and how they got out of their breaks, small basic things.”

Hartline offered Coleman on May 11 after a sophomore season in which the 5-foot-10, 180-pound prospect caught 30 passes for 546 yards with eight touchdowns.

“I’m more physical than other wide receivers. I can block, and I can play anywhere. I can play both outside and slot receiver,” Coleman said.

Coleman had toyed with the idea of ending his recruitment early and choosing a team sometime in December, but his mother suggested delaying a decision until after he takes his official visits. He says a summer commitment is now more likely. As it stands, he says Ohio State is “definitely” in his top five schools at the moment. He was also pleased to see Florida prospect Jayvan Boggs become the first wideout commitment of Ohio State's 2025 class earlier this month.

“Just being able to be coached by coach Hartline, knowing he’s one of the best in the game,” Coleman said about the most appealing thing about playing for the Buckeyes.

Coleman said he plans to revisit Ohio State on Nov. 11 when the Buckeyes play Michigan State in a primetime matchup.

Elijah Melendez to visit Ohio State for Penn State game

Since picking up an offer from Ohio State in August, four-star 2025 Florida linebacker Elijah Melendez has been searching for a weekend that works for him and his family to visit Ohio State. After planning on visiting for the second home game against Western Kentucky, Melendez has rescheduled his trip to this Saturday for the Penn State game, where there will be no shortage of high-profile recruits in attendance.

“It’ll be great to see them in person and for them to get a look at my size in person,” Melendez told Eleven Warriors before his since-cancelled September visit. “I want to see how the linebackers play and just how the players like it, really. I want to see how the fanbase is and how organized everything is.”

In September, Melendez said he’s already finalized a top seven schools list of Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Arkansas, Kentucky and Miami. While he’s narrowed down his recruitment, Melendez said he doesn’t have a timeline in mind as of now.

Jordan Lyle makes a highlight-reel run

Ohio State running back commit Jordan Lyle is having a nice senior season at St. Thomas Aquinas (Fort Lauderdale, Florida). In eight games this season, Lyle has run for 588 yards on 56 carries with seven touchdowns and caught nine passes for 116 receiving yards. But his recent game against Fort Lauderdale turned some heads, as he ran for 72 yards on just four carries, including a dominating 55-yard run for a touchdown involving many broken tackles.

Blake Woodby's commitment draws Twitter reaction from OSU staffers

When it rains, it pours, is a popular expression, but what’s the opposite of that? Because that’s how Ohio State fans must have felt during the final quarter of the Buckeyes’ 41-7 beatdown of Purdue on Saturday.

Not only did Ohio State secure the win to move to 6-0 on the season, but the Buckeyes landed the commitment of 2025 top-100 prospect Blake Woodby. Woodby, the first defensive commit of Ohio State's 2025 class chose the Buckeyes over the likes of Oregon, Alabama, Clemson and Tennessee. Of note, Woodby will also be back in Columbus for the Buckeyes' game against the Nittany Lions on Saturday.

Following the commitment, several Ohio State staffers, recruiting targets and commits took to Twitter to celebrate Woodby’s commitment. We’ve rounded up some of their reactions below.
