Ohio State, Michigan Commits Banter Over Which 2024 Offensive Line Recruiting Class Reigns Supreme

The Buckeyes and Wolverines each have 12 commitments in their respective recruiting classes, with OSU ranked first and Michigan third in 247Sports' national recruiting rankings. Four of those 12 commits for each school are offensive linemen.

On Tuesday evening, On3's Hayes Fawcett raised a prompt pitting each school's offensive line commitments against each other, and it didn’t take long for members of both recruiting classes to start chiming in.

As of now, Michigan & Ohio State hold arguably the best OL classes, with 4 commitments each.

As you might expect, both sides were very vocal toward their own allegiances, with Michigan commits Ben Roebuck, Luke Hamilton, Andrew Sprague and Blake Frazier each responding to the prompt.

Ian Moore was the only Ohio State offensive lineman commit to directly answer the question, but he didn't hold back on his response.

Roebuck took exception to the comment and fired back.

Ohio State running back commit James Peoples also chimed in and gave his future offensive linemen a vote of confidence.

Moore also took the social media stir-up as an opportunity to reach out to targets that both Ohio State and Michigan are courting in the 2024 class, including running back Boo Carter and offensive tackle Brandon Baker.

When the dust settled Wednesday morning, Moore used his platform to defend Justin Frye, who had come under fire from some Michigan fans.

Moore is currently the only top-100 prospect among the eight 2024 offensive linemen currently committed to Ohio State. Sprague and Frazier are the next-two-highest rated prospects in 247Sports’ composite rankings, followed by Ohio State commits Deontae and Devontae Armstrong. All of them are four-star recruits with the exception of Roebuck and Ohio State commit Marc Nave Jr., who are both three-star recruits.
