Andre James Discusses Buckeye Offer

By Jeremy Birmingham on March 24, 2014 at 9:42p

The Buckeyes are searching far and wide for talent and today offered 2015 offensive lineman Andre James from Herriman (Utah.)

A 6-foot-5, 275 pound lineman, James has offers from Washington, Oregon, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, UCLA and others. With the Buckeyes throwing their name into the proverbial hat, James said he's excited to learn more about the Buckeyes.

"I don't know a whole lot about them," James said of the Buckeyes. "It was actually my first time talking to Coach Warinner, but when I got in contact with them I got really pumped up. He said they like my build and the way I get off the ball."

Despite being unfamiliar with the Buckeyes, James actually has some family in Ohio. He thinks that will help him get to "The Heart of It All" a bit easier this summer.

"Most of my family is actually from Painesville," he said. "So I'd really like to get out there to check out the school. I love Urban Meyer, he's a great coach and he wins games. That's what gets me pumped about them, because I want to go to a winning program."

After living in Utah for a while, I can confidently say that Urban Meyer is a well known commodity out here. They know what he has done over his career, and revere him for what he did at Utah. Although he may not know a whole lot about Ohio State yet, I would not be surprised to see Andre James become a Buckeye.

A 6-5 275 athlete is a FAR superior starting point than 6-3 330 tub of lard.
