Ten years ago this season, Thad Matta's gum flew out of his mouth onto the floor during a game against Wisconsin. Much to the displeasure of onlooking germaphobes, Matta promptly popped it right back in his mouth.
It seems Matta's reactions have improved with age. During Tuesday's game against Maryland, Matta again lost his gum, but this time caught it before it reached the floor.
Of course, germs still exists on hands, but it's certainly an improvement.
