Across the Twitterverse: Review of the Week's Best Tweets

You may find that work, school, or other obligations keep you from focusing on Twitter the way you should. Thankfully for you, I'm able to tune out those distractions and provide you with a weekly rundown of the best tweets from around campus.

It's beginning to feel like fall outside, and football has returned to Columbus. All is right in the world. As we end our weeks and prepare for this highly anticipated contest against Northern Illinois, let us all just take a step back and a look at something of great importance to me: college kids saying funny things on the internet.

Alright. This is the cutest dog in the world. There's no debate.

Taylor Decker has been featured on OSU Crushes more times that Christian Hackenberg has eaten turf. The dude pulls.

Sam Hubbard is also on there frequently.

Fun fact: I actually have a land-line house phone at my campus house. I don't have to worry about this struggle.

Normally, I'd complain about his choice of Chipotle, but Subway is objectively garbage so this time I approve of the audible.

(Also, I'm currently eating Chipotle so I can't in good conscious hate on Dolo for doing the same)

Shot.

Chaser.

It was brought to my attention by D.J. Byrnes that Tyquan Lewis has without doubt the best Twitter bio of all time. Upon further review, he's not wrong:

“I don’t want to be confident in where I feel like I’m content,” Lewis said. “I feel like I want to be confident and know I can do better.” -Tyquan Lewis

Third person, and he quoted himself. That's next level.

This is the most mom reaction ever. Except, mine would have already been in the car to drive 9 hours up here and take me to the emergency room her self.

Another father-song combo on this team?

Braxton Miller isn't the only Buckeye with the B-Button move.

Looks like it's just a Buckeye thing. I'm waiting patiently for my Jamarco Jones spin move.

Honestly though, it just ruins a fire tweet when you realize you made a grammatical error. I immediately become embarrassed if people saw it and retweet/favorite it before I can correct it. Always proofread.

"And I don't even know his last name" -Carrie Underwood

pantoni birthday tweets

I've been critical in the past of Mark Pantoni's poor efforts to find a decent picture for his "Happy Birthday" tweets, but he was really on his game this week.

It takes a lot to bounce back after lackluster performances. Props to Pantoni.

players take first snaps

A few players took the first snaps of their Buckeye careers Saturday.

THAT'S ME! I'M THE STUDENT SECTION!

Zeke is crushin'

Cardale Jones's affection towards Ronda Rousey is well documented, but it appears that Ezekiel Elliott has a celebrity crush as well.

Hey man, you miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

If she sees this tweet, she's in. No question. That dog puts the "adorable" in "adorable."

That jersey looks just a tad snug.

Looks like Stephen Collier won this round:

I wish Ezekiel Elliott the best of luck in his chase. I think we all hope he has better luck than Cardale Jones...

Brutus appears to be in the game too:

this week's winner of twitter

I 100% believe this conversation between him and his professor actually happened and I would have paid dozens of dollars to witness that encounter.

Follow Friday:

  • Matt Burrell @marjiiinbuu
  • Adam Watson @Awats82 Adam is the football director at @OSUBlockO. He is more-or-less in charge of everything that happens in the student section throughout the game — from the card stunts to all the chants and cheers. Most of the time, he's the one who starts the "O-H-I-O" chant around the stadium (I bet you didn't realize that was one person, did you?). He's a great guy, and he works really hard. Give him a follow.
