Nate and Alex here. When we are not fetching coffee, making copies, cleaning the toilets, or feeding D.J.'s cats we work on a variety of different projects for Eleven Warriors.

As your 2016 11W Summer Marketing Interns we will be providing updates on our projects for the community on a weekly basis each Sunday throughout the summer. Our work will focus largely on product improvement, customer engagement and personal growth. Comments, questions and some damn respect for once are appreciated.

This past week we have been taking a look at the 11W forums and community. The community (you guys reading this) is obviously very crucial since we would be nothing without it. We think it is important that we give people the opportunity to add their voice to any conversation that we have on this site so we make it super easy to create an account. Joining the 11W community means a lot to us and that more than obligates us to try our darndest to make this place great. There are several areas of opportunity that we feel can be addressed to improve the community’s experience on our site.

• An enhanced search feature- many community members have voiced their opinions about searches not pulling up pertinent information. This is something that we have been focusing on for some time as the site has grown so quickly. We wholeheartedly agree that the search tool needs fine-tuning and we appreciate the patience everyone has shown.

• A search feature in which usernames and staff names can be searched so profiles can easily be found. For instance if I search “Ramzy Nasrallah” his profile should appear and be at the top of the search.

• Account notifications- members would probably like to know if somebody has replied to their comments or forum pieces. For a lot of people, checking everything you have said on this site can be quite a hassle.

• User gamification- Similar to reddit gold, 11W site currency could be purchased for a price and then given out for very good comments or topic posts. This will incentivize people to post quality. Amassing this currency can allow users to upgrade their account. This could be implemented into 11W, reddit seems to go well from it. This provides an extra stream of revenue, and hopefully makes the quality in the forum better. When the user hits the appropriate amount of 11W currency, they can cash them in for dry goods, 12th warrior membership, rent-an-intern passes, etc.

We definitely like the site updates that have been implemented thus far and we will continue to deliver more so that 11W continues to evolve. The passion people show on this website is extraordinary and we want to be able to match that level of ambition in what we do here.
