Happy Father's Day, gents. 

Here are some notes on a few things that went down this weekend:

- Tennessee held its "Orange Carpet Day" on Saturday. It's their big event of the summer and both Emory Jones and Cam Akers were there for it. The Vols landed seven commitments during the event. Fortunately none of them were the aforementioned OSU targets. Akers' post-visit comments seemed pretty typical and a little bit meh ("I had fun" type of comments). Jones is going to commit to either Tennessee or Ohio State, and it's likely to happen any day now. Right now he isn't speaking to any of the Tennessee recruiting guys, but i do know he's talked to a few of Ohio State's. Does that matter? Not sure, but it still looks like Ohio State right now.

247sports national analyst Ryan Bartow put in a crystal ball for Akers to Ohio State. Always good to see the national guys do that instead of just the Ohio State writers.

Side note: Tennessee's seven commitments totaled 21 stars. Can you imagine the reaction if that happened here? 

- 2018 quarterback Artur Stikowski was in Columbus on Friday and then Ann Arbor on Saturday. Still think Jones is the guy, but Stikowski had some good things to say about Ohio State. Said his relationship with Meyer is better than his relationship with Harbaugh. Also said some interesting things about how Beck suggested he improve his mechanics. Seems like a pretty good kid.

Crystal ball reads 75% Michigan, 25% Rutgers. The Rutgers writers basically CB every single kid to their school early on and it never pans out (see: Guarantano, Gary, Fuller, Mitchell, etc etc). 

- Lamont Wade visited Penn State again this weekend. I believe that's the seventh or eighth time he's been there since signing day. Looks like Ohio State or Penn State but it's tough to rule out Pitt with these kids. Doesn't have a decision date set right now. 

- Shaun Wade spoke with Scout.com about his recent visits - Ohio State, ND, Alabama. Said he definitely plans on taking officials to Ohio State and ND.

- Five-star safety Jeffrey Okudah visited again this weekend. Everything went great and there's no reason to worry about that one. He is supposed to be trimming his list down in July but it still looks like a commitment could happen anytime between now and the start of his senior season. 

- There's a thread on the two new in-state linebacker offers from this weekend. Toledo's Dallas Gant visited ND after getting his OSU offer and, as expected, ND also offered. Cincinnati's Christopher Oats (Winton Woods) also was offered and he looks like more of a "lock" than his in-state counterpart. Ohio State may be in for a bit of a battle with UM and ND for Gant, but he is already talking about a return trip to Columbus this week with his parents, so you never know.
