What Will OSU Do to Keep Jermaine Mathews Engaged in 2024?

Perhaps the most impressive freshman in 2024 was Jermaine Mathews. When his number was called he played shutdown corner, one could argue better than Denzel in 2021.

While Hancock and Burke coming back is inarguably incredible for the program's chase for a title in '24, it does create a bit of a dilemma in that Mathews will again be slated for the 3rd string corner spot. At the same time, the FS position is arguably in line to be the weakest and least sure spot on the OSU defense.

My question to you is what does OSU do to get Jermaine Mathews on the field for '24. Do they have a real 3 man rotation at outside corner (IGGY, Burke, and Mathews)?? Do they have a 3 man rotation at everyone except PSU, USC, Oregon, and UM and then ride Burke and IGGY in the big games? Or do they find a way to slide one of the corners in to a safety slot?

Is Mathews or Hancock capable of not only playing FS, but also playing it better then Harford?

This is an incredible problem to have, but I believe that it is a problem nonetheless, keeping our arguably best young defender engaged in '24 will play dividends in '25 and may be necessary to keep him from transferring.
