When the Game is No Longer in Doubt, Get the Starters Out!

Am I the only one that is nervous when Ryan Day leaves the starters in the game when the game is out of reach? There is no good reason to do this, even against TTUN. We don't need "style" points--win, and we are in. This is not 2014 when we needed to run up the score to impress the committee. If for some reason the back-ups start giving up some points, the starters can always go back in (this isn't baseball).

By leaving the starters in, Day risks injuries to star players, including concussions. (Like Wilson). You think Mich. St. and TTUN are beyond taking a cheap shot at one of our guys if we are way up on the score and a 15 yard penalty doesn't mean anything?

Additionally, with the way they call the targeting rule, we could lose a key player for the entire first half of our next game. Refs have a habit of doing this to our best players. We already saw this happen a couple of games ago.

Here is hoping that against Mich. St, AND TTUN, if the Buckeyes are up say 24 + points, Day will get the key guys out and reward the back-ups with some actual playing time, and not risk losing guys for the next game.
