I’ll start by saying that I’m the biggest sunshine pumper that’s ever graced an Ohio State message board. I can vaguely remember defending Joe Bauserman in 2011 after the first game or two of the season, so I’m far from being a “the sky is falling” type of guy.
Saying that, I’m a little worried about CJ refusing to take off when there’s an easy first down right in front of him. Does it matter vs Indiana or Maryland? No, no it doesn’t. But does that muscle memory and comforting style of play translate to the back half of the season, where we will sure be in a slugfest and need 6 on the ground during a 3rd and 5? That remains to be seen. CJ is developing into something quite special right before our eyes, and I admit this is a very small/slight criticism that I’m presenting.
Am I overreacting, or is this a legitimate take?
Anyone Worried About CJ Not Taking the Easy Yards with His Feet?
