Former Ohio State wide receiver Ormonde Ricketts, who was a team captain for the Buckeyes in 1963, died Tuesday at the age of 79.
A native of Springfield, Ohio, Ricketts caught 18 passes for 190 yards in three seasons for the Buckeyes (in an era where teams didn't pass the ball very often).
Following his Ohio State career, Ricketts went on to complete two tours in Vietnam, where he earned a Bronze Star, then worked at Springfield High School as a teacher and coach for 22 years, according to his obituary.
