Former Ohio State walk-on defensive tackle Zaid Hamdan is transferring to James Madison, he announced Friday on Twitter.

Hamdan, who entered the transfer portal in February, spent three years with the Buckeyes and appeared in five games over the past two seasons, recording four tackles in 2019. He brings three years of eligibility to James Madison after he redshirted in 2018 and all players received a free year of eligibility in 2020.

James Madison is one of the top programs in the Football Championship Subdivision. The Dukes made it to the FCS national championship game last season, and are set to face North Dakota in this spring's FCS quarterfinals on Sunday.

The Dukes already have an Ohio State transfer on their current roster in Wayne Davis, a former scholarship Buckeye who transferred to James Madison in 2018.
