Some sad news from the weekend: Kharim Stephens, a former Ohio State walk-on defensive lineman, was killed in a motorcycle accident on Saturday in Columbus.

Columbus police said the crash occurred around 3:30 p.m. Saturday as Kharim Stephens, 30, of the Southeast Side, was driving a 2017 Suzuki motorcycle north on Cleveland Avenue near Republic Avenue.
A 2005 Toyota Scion, driven by 20-year-old Myrlanda Pierre, of the Northeast Side, was traveling south on Cleveland Avenue when it turned left to go into a Family Dollar parking lot and struck the motorcycle, police said.
Stephens was taken to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, where he died at 5:21 p.m. Saturday. His death is the 24th traffic fatality in the city in 2021.
Stephens played for the Buckeyes during the 2012 season. He went on to graduate from Ohio State with a degree in public policy analysis and was working as a patient access coordinator at Ohio State, according to his LinkedIn page.
