So we know that de Fries allegedly pressured Courtney Smith into keeping quiet re: abuse back in 2009 (and maybe 2015? I'm unclear on the timeline). We also know that he's a former Shell Oil exec and an apparently close confidant of UFM, dating back 20+ years. He has some "special assistant" role on Meyer's staff, and is a "professional life skills expert" (whatever the hell that means--I guess he's the guy who's responsible for Urban's love of trite self-help platitudes). Am I the only person who has a really bad feeling about this dude and his involvement in the football program? He sounds like a hack and a fixer, the kind of sketchy character who does the dirty work behind the scenes and only enters the public eye in the wake of a scandal. Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm concerned about this character.
