Seven Buckeyes realized the fruition of their hard work on the gridiron, the weight room and the classroom as they heard their names called during the 2018 NFL Draft. That brings the total number of Urban Meyer coached Ohio State players selected in the draft to 40.

However, there is another route to the NFL and that road starts at the conclusion of the draft...undrafted free agency. If you add the 28 players that have signed undrafted free agent contracts, Meyer's Buckeye NFL pipeline increases to 68.

By the numbers, Meyer averages 6.7 players selected in the draft and 4.6 signing undrafted free agent contracts. That means Meyer averages 11.3 players going to the league each year. Pretty impressive. 

Five Facts

1. The Panthers have signed four Ohio State UFA, that is the most during the Urban Meyer era. 
2. Between 2013 and today, only five teams have not selected an Ohio State player in the NFL Draft or signed an undrafted free agent. Those despicable teams are the Bears, Buccaneers, Cardinals, Chiefs and Patriots.
3. The Bengals have signed two undrafted Buckeyes, both in the last two years.
4. The Browns have not signed an undrafted Urban Meyer player.
5. Four Urban Meyer safeties have singed after the draft. More than any other position group.

Not so bold prediction: The numbers above will increase after the conclusion of the 2019 NFL Draft. Especially the players selected in the draft.
