RUTGERS' OFFENSIVE NUMBERS

The Scarlet Knights entered the game as the nation's 86th-ranked offense in total yards (387.3) and averaged 27.3 points per game. Chris Laviano struggled in the first half and only completed 3 of his 12 passes for 33 yards. Laviano was replaced by Tylin Oden who did not complete a pass on four attempts. Robert Martin was Rutgers' leading offensive performer. The junior rushed for 40 yards and averaged 3.1 yards per carry.

Rutgers was held to 27.3 points below its scoring average and 54.3 yards below its total yards average. It was not a welcoming Homecoming for Chris Ash.

RUTGERS' DEFENSIVE NUMBERS

Ohio State moved the ball on the ground and through the air. The Buckeyes produced 410 rushing yards and 259 passing yards in the 58-0 beating. The 669 total yards amassed by Ohio State was 271.3 yards more than the average allowed all season by Rutgers.

Ohio State's offensive leaders were J.T. Barrett who completed 21-of-29 passing for 238 yards and 4 touchdowns. Barrett is now the all-time record holder for touchdown passes at Ohio State. Mike Weber rushed for a game-high 144 yards rushing (10.3 ypc) and Curtis Samuel who had 154 all-purpose yards (9.6 yards per touch) and a touchdown. 12 different Buckeyes caught a pass and 9 players had positive yards rushing. 

RUTGERS' SPECIAL TEAMS 

Josh Kicks had 77 kickoff return yards and averaged 12.8 yards per return. The Scarlet Knights were held to just over 20 yards below their kickoff return average.

Putnter Michael Cintron was busy on Saturday as he punted 10 times. He had a pedestrian average of 33.7 net punting yards.
