Decided to make a graphic to help me visualize all the mayhem that is yet to play out between the AP Top 25. Obviously doesn't include conference championships, but I think it's interesting just to see how many big games teams need to survive to be in the playoff conversation when it's all said and done. Obviously a lot to be played out in the SEC. However, it's interesting looking at one loss teams and spotting the teams that only have one more game against a ranked opponent: Oregon, Mich St, Georgia, and OSU (& Nebraska with none). All these teams would still have their conference championship game as well, but it seems they have the easiest road in terms of sitting back and watching everyone else beat each other up first.
I'll stop there since I never intended to use this for analysis - just a look at how much season we have left (not even considering upsets by unranked teams or games against teams on the verge of an AP ranking - I'm looking at you Minnesota). Hope you get something out of it.
