It was quite a night for Brice Sensabaugh even if it ended in a loss for the Utah Jazz.

In his first NBA start, the former Buckeye finished with 15 points (eight points in the first quarter), 12 rebounds and one assist while making 5-of-8 shots (3-of-4 from beyond the arc) in 30 minutes, all of which were career-highs except for his one assist. In his first 12 appearances for the Jazz, Sensabaugh totaled 41 points, 11 rebounds and six assists in 109 minutes.

After playing just two minutes in Utah's season opener, the 28th overall selection in the 2023 NBA Draft played just three of the Jazz's next 53 games, at least at the NBA level. Before Feb. 15, Sensabaugh had not played more than four minutes in a single game for the Jazz. In Utah's seven games since then, he has notched at least 12 minutes per game, averaging 6.9 points and 2.7 rebounds while shooting 45.9% from the field and 40.9% from 3-point range in 17.5 minutes per game in that span, culminating in the best game of his rookie campaign Wednesday night.

While not being part of the rotation for Utah, Sensabaugh played for G-League's Salt Lake City Stars, averaging 19.5 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.4 steals while shooting 47.7% from the field and 32.5% from 3-point range in 27.5 minutes per game (13 games, nine starts).

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound forward has certainly taken advantage of his increased role with the Jazz recently, though. Nearly nine months after he was picked by the Jazz, the first-round selection seems to have proven his growth and development as a rookie.
