We had a thread about what expectations should be for OSU basketball. I want to phrase the question differently and present a hypothetical scenario:

Say our next coach, in an 8 year time span, never finishes first in the B1G and never wins the BTT. Bear in mind that the B1G is moving to 18 teams and some of those are good programs or potentially good programs. However, our coach does average a 5th place finish in the conference and never finishes lower than 10th out of 18.

During the 8 years, this OSU coach misses the Dance only once. In the 7 years he makes the Dance, let's say his team loses in the Round of 64 twice, Round of 32 thrice, and Sweet 16 twice.

In general the culture seems solid and with few off-court issues. HS and portal recruiting are not elite but above average.

Would this be good enough for you (and let's say in the last two years of the 8 he finished top third in the conference and had a R64 loss and R32 loss) or would you feel that he should be fired/not extended?
