Have any of you guys watched it? I love Westerns and I love the Coen Brothers so when I saw this pop up in my Netflix recommendations, I knew I had to watch it. I wasn’t disappointed. What a masterpiece...to me anyway. It’s basically 6 unrelated vignettes ranging from absurd musicals, to dark (VERY DARK) tragedies, to heartwarming redemption. The cinematography is so great that I’m convinced you could watch it on mute and still enjoy it which shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone that’s seen a Coen Brothers movie. Tom Waits blew me away as the happy-go-lucky gold prospector and the title character Buster Scruggs is one of the more interesting depictions I’ve seen in a long time. This movie would have never worked in theatres so I’m so glad a platform like Netflix exists so that the Coen Brothers could pull this off. Would love to hear what you guys thought about it.
