A Las Vegas high school, Calvary Chapel Christian School, has hired the 73-year-old head coach to lead its men’s basketball program. He will also serve as the school’s athletic director.
Bliss is most-known for coaching Baylor from 1999-2003. He resigned from his position after an NCAA investigation into the murder of Bears’ player Patrick Dennehy by teammate Carlton Dotson. Bliss allegedly tried to frame Dennehy as a drug dealer to provide cover for himself. He had allegedly been paying the player’s tuition and made up a story of Dennehy being a drug dealer to pay his own way. Bliss was given a 10-year show cause by the NCAA for “a blatant and sweeping disregard” of the rules.
The former Bears’ coach has also made stints at Oklahoma, New Mexico, Allen Academy and Southwestern Christian and has been linked to other scandals.

How does Dave Bliss keep getting coaching jobs? Dude is a human pile of shit. Stop hiring him. Also kind of a shitty coach

The last two schools to hire Dave Bliss were both Christian institutions. Bliss, 73, tried to frame a murdered player as a drug dealer

Dave Bliss doesn't deserve another coaching opportunity. The school should've used the Internet to do research. #GoogleIsYourFriend https://t.co/v2BgO5qvB9
