"A former Florida State University student who accused star college quarterback Jameis Winston of raping her filed a federal lawsuit against the school on Wednesday [Jan 7, 2015] over its handling of her case.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe, blames FSU for making deliberate decisions to avoid its Title IX obligations to promptly investigate the alleged rape from December 2012, according to a copy of the suit obtained by The Huffington Post. The "concealment" of the student sexual assault, the suit claims, was done to "to protect the football program."

She has legal team of Very Big Hitters. If she wins her Title IX case, she can go back after Winston criminally on the grounds that her civil rights were violated - not only by FSU, but by the local courts and police.

Certainly, she may settle. But apparently, the big guns funding her case will likely not be interested in anything short of a scorched earth result.

The Title IX Federal Complaint is included in the Huffington Post article (link above). Reads like a nightmare.

Certainly a nightmare for the young woman at the time... And, now a nightmare for Winston, FSU, and the Tallahassee law enforcement community.
