Like I have said numerous times - he plays 3-5 great games a year. After that, I don't think he has done enough to play as much as he does or start over Scott. IMO Scott has much more upside then Smith - how many games has Smith Jr. taken off and scored <7 pts - too darn many to count.
Yep, 3 for 3 behind the arc and 11 pts in less than nine minutes. But he missed a dunk so we should yank his scholarship.

NW might not be talented on offense but you can't fall asleep with all the picks and backdoor cuts they look for.

Northwestern's Basketball floor is Horrendous. Kind of a water colored purple, that doesn't match their uniforms. Their cheerleaders are louder than their fans, ala a high school game. Cheesy setting for a Big 10 Basketball contest in the MidWest's Mightiest Metropolis.

Nope - this is #3 for his good games this yr. so he is at his yrly avg. The other two were against mighty Nebraska. He's a solid MAC prospect - but not a starter at a place like Ohio State. Then again, this team is so flawed overall that people have come to accept the mediocrity that is Mr. Smith Jr and therefore, he is starting - sigh....

Terrible first half? Come on we played multiple guys that don't see the court until the game is over and dt and craft got some rest. It was a good first half. Got to stiffen the perimeter defense and harder for good shots on offense.
yep. The object of the game is to score more points than your opponent. OSU is accomplishing this. ADV has a way to go, to be ready for more minutes, he needs to get a little stronger, for defensive reasons. Trey McDonald needs to be given as many minutes as his lungs and personal foul total allows...... I think Trey has the potential to be a real nice Big Man.

This team is nearly impossible to watch. I'm sure the homers will bash me but I can't recall the last time a Buckeye basketball team pi$$ed me off so much. They make incredibly dumb plays on a regular basis. Stepping out of bounds, missing a wide open dunk, getting a rebound at the basket and freaking dribbling?
Craft - there is an offensive side of the game! You have to score SOMETHING!

Well had I known you were charting my comments, I would ensure that i threw in a "great job team" every once in a while. You bitching about bitching only makes you a hypocrite. They may be 21-7 but how many of those were cupcakes? The point of my post is that this team is extremely frustrating because they have the talent to be very good yet continue to barely beat bad teams and lose to quality ones. If they don't get it together, they will be going home early from the dance.
I also feel that Matta gets the benefit of the doubt a bit too much. Not saying he should be fired but at some point they need to win against good teams on a consistant basis. As good of a team as they were last year, they should not have lost to Kansas. At some point, he needs to win those games.
They beat duke, won the Big 10 and made it to the Final 4, last year. The year before, they were in the sweet 16. This year, they are a legit top 20. I'd just be guessing, to think Matta has helped coach his teams to some quality victories.

How can a team with 7 scholly players give us matchup problems? I can't believe this game is simple as basketball talent / not athletic (NW) vs not-so-great basketball talent / athletic as heck (OSU). People get on Amir so bad because he exemplifies this whole team. Tons of potential but not very smart, often diabolically bad, and frequently good enough to win.

Smith basically won us this game tonight. Only one who played with a consistent intensity. I really wish less people would hate on him. He may be inconsistent offensively but defensively and rebounding by him is huge
