Those are probably the best looking people in Alabama too.

I live in Alabama and I have to say I am arguably the best looking guy here. (Joking of course) I was at Walmart this morning and thought I saw that lady four different times. At a closer view I realized that she had a different shirt on every time. Then it dawned on me that she may indeed be 4 different people. Alabama like anywhere, has its share of beautiful women but there are wheelbarrow full of those like that which is visible above. Living here I can say that both fan bases are obnoxious but probably no more than our own. Which is worse? Depends on who has the better record. Go Bama, just for this game.

My brother was in the Marines, stationed at Redstone Arsenal, in Huntsville, back in the late 70s, early 80s. He said he got sooooo frickin'(before 'frickin' was cool) sick of hearing "Sweet Home Alabama,' he decided to become an Auburn fan. True story.

Irricoir's picture

I can certainly understand. Between Roll Tide (Mascot an Elephant) and War Eagle (Mascot a Tiger) I get sick of both. They are so confused I wonder if they know who they cheer for at the games, and don't just attend as another excuse to get drunk and try to score outside their own gene pool?

FOOL THIS IS FOOTBALL SEASON

Hi Haters...

Jeff @ Fox Sports Ohio's picture

Really?  It's not basketball season?  Cause I just went to a basketball game today....and Im pretty sure that I was still referring to your school, who paid for several players.

RichRod cheated in terms of practice hours and his team is still horrible. M*ch*gan can't even cheat right.

KenK's picture

Cam is not exactly putting together a Heisman highlight reel so far.

This (Alabama) might not be a bad defensive approach for us to use against DRob; keep the guy in front with controlled "rage". I'm sure no one has ever come up with that idea yet.

Johnny Hooker: "He's not as tough as he thinks". Henry Gondorff: "Neither are we".

BAMA IS THE BEST TEAM IN THE COUNTRY. NUETRAL FIELD, THEY'D BE FAVORED OVER ANYBODY.

OSU, Auburn, and LSU would be the only teams to be 7 point dogs or less. And this is obviously not saying they can't be beat.

“There’s one thing I have learned through all my adventures and conquests - it’s that some people are just wired for success. I had no choice when it came to being great - I just am great.” – Kenny Powers

KenK's picture

At this point in the game, Auburn would probably settle for 7-pt dog.

I can't say I disagree.......but damn that Bama team has 3 losses this year

Pam's picture

Thank God we have Buckeye Guy.  He is Brad Pitt compared to 'Bama fans

nickma71's picture

By seasons end, my ESPN fan poll top 10 will be pretty close to the AP. Provided TCU/Boise drop by the correct amount, and they play the right teams. Putting them against Pitt/WVU or Va Tech again would be a disgrace, and intentional. Just like last year, having them go against each other, guranteeing an undefeated season for one. I still have Oregon, Alabama, Ohio State. I put Ohio State behind because of the injuries to the secondary that will get exposed, and did get exposed against a team where OSU needs another defender in the box. I expect Alabama to possibly jump several teams, including OSU. But if the beating continues, as it should, Auburn will sink. And even lower after they have to go against South Carolina, who will be fired up.

Observe Auburn's comeback. Why can't Tressel do that?

tomcollins's picture

It requires you to go for it on 4th down.

Also having a real OC helps.

Bucksfan's picture

You mean like against Penn State? Iowa?

Almost did it against Wisconsin, but the g'damn Badgers are actually the better team, so they straight beat Ohio State.

Irricoir's picture

I'm not sure Wisconsin was the better team that day. I am not hating on them at all. They certainly have great players. I think that they definitely had the better scheme that day and it was superior to the type of defense and personnel we were running. Maybe you could call it the better team. The coaches are part of that team so yeah, I see your point. I just believe if we had played a more run oriented defense and forced Tolzien to throw and make him beat us with his arm then we would have had a better chance. 6-7 down linemen will almost always trump our 4-3 or hybrid 5-2. I am no expert.

I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.

Irricoir's picture

And there is a good chance that he would do that, I understand.

I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.

Bucksfan's picture

I'm with you 100% on the wrong game design.  But you take the field to see who's best.  Wisconsin owned on special teams (KO return for TD, OSU missed a FG...10 points right there), Wisconsin bitch-smacked our run defense (they did stack the box, but still couldn't make them 1-D like you suggest), and their d-line wiped out about half of Pryor's rushing yards on sacks.  Wisconsin committed, what, 2 penalties?  They played a clean game, and acted like it was the Big Ten title game for the full 60 minutes.  Ohio State only did that for about a quarter and a half, and got 18 points out of it.  Think what'd be possible if Ohio State played for 60 minutes like it was for the national title.

Hoody Wayes's picture

Almost did. But, he didn't.

Irricoir's picture

Got to be a Troll or just sarcastic, but I will bite.

HMMM Penn State. Iowa. Close at Wisconsin. Granted not a 24 point deficit but regardless. You won't hear me complain much about Tressel this year. The Wisconsin game sucked but JT has done a lot of good for this program. I'll be extremely disappointed is we lose tomorrow or lose again to an SEC team. If you call for his head, then you are a what have you done for me lately guy/gal and that's a wretched life to live or a wretched person to live with.

Auburn won because their defense showed up in the second half, the way we haven't seen them play this year. CN played better in the second half too and his receivers stopped dropping balls. One thing JT can take notes on is look what happens when you start leaning on your defense and play ultra conservative on Offense. Three and outs and a tired defense = comeback. With a lead like they had and playing not to lose often gives you a greater chance to do just that.

I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.

Joe Beale's picture

Auburn's comeback came against a very sloppy 'bama team, very un-Saban-like.  Also, they got the TD before halftime, not settling for a FG and then blowing it after a turnover like OSU did against Wisky.

JakeBuckeye's picture

Ohio State fans are always good to see something one in a million happen and then demand that their own coach do it on a regular basis.

U of M 4life's picture

LETS GOOOOOOO BLLLLUUUUUUEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I assume you mean "go" for 7 in a row.  Good call.

That so called "unnecessary roughness - illegal helmet contact" call that just happened in the Arizona-Oregon game is officially the worst call I have seen this year. Are you kidding me? This shit has gone too far - in both the NFL and college! Football is a violent, contact sport goddammit! Give me a break!

741's picture

That was a perfect hit, not illegal! How do you overturn a fumble recovered by the DEF and award the team that fumbled the ball +15 yards and an automatic 1st down?

Bucksfan's picture

The refs were awful in this game.  Oregon didn't need any help, but they sure got it from the zebras.

JakeBuckeye's picture

You know what reallyinfuriates me? The way Oregon fans boo every injury on opposing teams. I get what Cal did was shady, but that doesn't give them the right. What pompous self-absorbed bastards. Injuries happen. Its football you fucking scum.

President Gee is getting a kick out of this!

Little Sisters 34 - Boise State 31

Colin's picture

that just proves his point, because Boise St just lost to the little sisters making them very unworthy of national championship talk

buckeyedude's picture

That's right, M Man. Gee doesn't look so stupid now, does he? I think it's the bow tie.

Irricoir's picture

Yeah Little Sisters are having a fantastic, well at least entertaining "no defense in the fourth quarter" game.

I know we're kind of anti-BCS busters on here, but a great game is a great game.

Please put Boise State's kicker on suicide watch tonight. I truly wish I was joking about this too.

I heard Michigan offered him a scholarship.

JakeBuckeye's picture

I know you were only joking, but both Boise State and TCU would probably kick our asses, or at least beat us on a neutral field.

Colin's picture

After watching this game, I know you were only joking too with that ridiculous statement.

741's picture

With all due respect, Jake, I call bullshit on that.

Maybe we will get our shot at TCU in the Sugar to lay this to rest.

TLB's picture

no way the Sugar passes on LSU

JakeBuckeye's picture

I just don't want to go to the Orange Bowl... I'll play anybody as long as its not there.

TLB's picture

UConn in Tempe?  No Thanks.

JakeBuckeye's picture

True. I guess I was presuming Nebraska gets stuck with that mess.

BLeezy17's picture

UConn anywhere? No thanks.

I would love the orange bowl along with many thousands of other OSU alumni in south fl.

buckeyedude's picture

I agree. What the hell is wrong with the Orange Bowl?

741's picture

There are some significant variables that may come into play before LSU to the Sugar is a fait accompli.

JakeBuckeye's picture

Kick our asses was of course hyperbole, but yes I believe we'd lose to at least TCU this year.

Colin's picture

What's TCU's signature win of the year? They crushed Utah, the same Utah that NOTRE DAME destroyed. NOTRE DAME, the same team *ICHIGAN beat, the same *ichigan we are about to destroy in 10 hours.

Somehow I'm not convinced.

oh...and did you notice my reference to the game. It's GAME DAY! GO BUCKS I HATE *ichigan!

Irricoir's picture

I think that game would be competitive with TCU, more so than Boise. TCU has a very good rushing defense and they could make us one dimensional. If that happened I don't know if we could rely on Pryor's arm? Maybe he'd have another Oregon game. IDK. I see it as a competitive game but I would never admit that we'd get our ass kicked by a mid major unless I was confident that it would happen. I am just not. I'm also a little  concerned about this game later on today. I see ways for us to fall behind the eight ball in this game. I agree their defense has been crap all year but this is "The Game". When have stats or w/l mattered in this rivalry? Is this defense nearly the same defense we played last year and only put up 21 points? I understand we're playing at home. In 2006 didn't _ichigan score like 38 points on what we considered a very solid defense? I REALLY am not trying to be a Debbie downer, but I won't start proclaiming victory until we have it tightly in our grasp. I'd hate to feel like the young Boise qb that was shaking hands and celebrating on the sideline. I assure you I'll celebrate as hard as anyone else though!

I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.

Irricoir's picture

I know its a military academy but Navy earned our respect last year right? Air Force nearly beat Oklahoma and ran all over them and most everybody they have played. Did TCU not shut them down? Not debating just asking your opinion?

I don't always take names when I kick ass but when I do, they most often belong to a Wolverine.

Bucksfan's picture

Boise went down at the hands of Nevada tonight.  I'm not going to go so far as to say Boise State sucks at football, but I can tell you that Ohio State would annihilate either Boise or TCU in the game of collegiate football.  They have no place within the hallowed walls of the Rose Bowl.

If you don't think so, you've drank too much of whatever ESPN is mixing up.

Ultrabuckeyehomer's picture

I still don't think so, and it has nothing to do with what ESPN or anyone else has to say.  I look at thier schedule, like many others, and think that they are not worthy of the championship game because there are too few times they can be tripped up over the season. They are so much better than everyone else on thier schedule that an undefeated season is not as worthy as other undefeated or 1 loss seasons by other teams in major conferences.  It simply isn't the grind we or Auburn or LSU or Oregon have to go through.

However, Boise is one of the best teams in the country.  They destroyed almost everyone on thier schedule, which is all we could have done against that schedule.  I think they could beat any team in the country, period.  And I think they would have a good record (well above .500) against the top 10 this year.

So, while i do not feel they deserve to play for the MNC, I also don't agree the team is not good enough to be the best team in the country, they certainly are as talented as any team I have seen.  But, it just isn't fair to all the other good teams out there for Boise St to rarely be challenged all year.  When all you have to do is "get up" for 2 games a year, you do not deserve to play for it all.

yrro's picture

Anyone else feeling the karma for Alabama? They win a national title due to a freak injury to the best quarterback in college football. They lose yesterday by getting both tip receivers and their quarterback knocked out of the game. Sucks for them, but you can't say they didn't earn it.

BuckeyeChief's picture

LOL Boise State! I have a lot more respect for TCU who may hav disappeared for a while but used to be major players even if it was in the 1930's. Alright enough, it's scUM bashing time...

The BCS is total goddamn bullshit.  Monopoly.

Did that 1st kick really miss? or was the BCS mafia just keeping money within the family?

Boise lost, that's fine, but it still does not take away from the broken system.
