With one day left until Saturday's Jersey Scrimmage, the Bucks took the practice field at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center without pads and had a relatively light practice. Overall, it was a pretty light day in terms of action on the field, but here are some noteworthy/newsworthy tidbits:
Players in Yellow: Jordan Hall, Travis Howard, Connor Smith, Andrew Sweat, and Chris Fields
Players in Blue: Brandon Saine, Chimdi Chekwa, Carlos Hyde, and Tyler Moeller
Overheard from an anonymous coach: "Right now, 80 (Chris Fields) is our third best guy at wide out." With Duron Carter out until further notice, Fields is taking advantage of the opportunity and looks to be forcing the coaching staff's hands. He could see himself playing significant minutes early in the season.
Much of the day was spent working on Special Teams. Kickoffs seemed to be the theme of the day. Every possible formation was covered including onside kicks, pooch kicks, and working on kick coverage. Clearly this is an area that the staff feels strongly about and they seem to be looking to address what was considered a down year by many in terms of the quality of OSU special teams.
Kenny Guiton was showing just how far he has come in just a little under a year in the program. He was hitting his spots today in all of his practice throws and it appears that he and Bauserman will be battling down to the wire to be Terrelle Pryor's backup
Not much today considering how light the practice was. We should have more following tomorrow's Jersey Scrimmage. Below is Terrelle Pryor addressing the media after practice.

If Guiton really steps up and shows some good flashes as the back up QB, then I can see Braxton reconsidering his options. Although, I would hope Braxton picks OSU anyway.
I doubt Braxton will be discouraged from coming here because of competition - especially since KG will likely get very limited playing time so there would be no way to actually know how good he is
Good read on why ESPN is so vulnerable to the competition sprouting up around it. Bonus points for the phrase, "the dipshit gauntlet at Around the Horn." (complex.com)

That ringing in the background of the video is obnoxious.

Does TP have that natural fauhawk going on? Or is his hair just messy?
Ha! I'm glad I was not the only one who noticed... Pick up yer flippin' phone!
+1 if B. Miller is as good as advertised he will very likely be the #1 QB wherever he ends up.
What does it mean if a player is in blue or yellow?
Something to the effect that they either have a medical injury and are limited to contact or they are off limits and cannot be hit at all.
Agreed. Sounds as if Guiton is far more capable of giving the offense the continuity it needs should TP go down. Heaven forbid.
