INDIANAPOLIS – Before the linebackers ran their 40-yard dash attempts at the NFL Scouting Combine on Sunday, Pittsburgh Steelers scout Mark Gorscak – who directs the 40-yard dash at the combine – paid tribute to Steelers and former Ohio State linebacker Ryan Shazier, who continues to recover after suffering a spinal injury while playing for the Steelers in December.

While wearing a SHALIEVE shirt, Gorscak addressed the linebackers before they ran and dedicated the position group's 40s to Shazier.

You can watch the dedication in the video above.

"We all know Ryan had an injury right now, and he's making an amazing recovery," Gorscak said. "He's making a lot of progress on his purpose. The joy is in the journey. He's going through a journey, and you young men are going through a journey also. So we want everything we do, we want to remember Ry."

"One thing I know about Ryan Shazier, I ain't betting against him coming back. And he's making great progress right now. So let's remember his spirit, and we're going to get a lot of things done today in this group. Somebody else here might be the next Ryan Shazier and be an outstanding football player, if not all of you guys," Gorscak added.

Shazier said last month, during an interview on his Steelers teammate Roosevelt Nix's podcast, that he still has his sights on playing in the NFL again despite his injury.
