Freshman safety Brendon White became the ninth Buckeye to lose his “Black Stripe” this year following Saturday's practice, the last of Ohio State's fall camp.
At Urban Meyer's Ohio State, losing your Black Stripe means you're now seen as a true Buckeye on the team and no longer a newcomer learning the ropes.
Meyer posted a video to his Twitter account of White's memorable moment.
The 6-foot-2, 210-pound safety is a local product, from Olentangy Liberty High School in nearby Powell. The journalism major and son of Buckeye great William White is one of nine freshman to enroll early, participating in Ohio State's pre-bowl practice and spring camp, where he saw time at wide receiver before eventually transitioning back to safety.
