A hometown legend is a cliché as old enough as sports itself. But what constitutes one?

Thankfully for us, we now have the Legends Challenge, which gauges celebrity by consulting one of the most revered public institutions in our country: The local barbershop.

The newest challenger is Ohio State freshman wide receiver Trevon Grimes, a four-star signee from St. Thomas Aquinas in Fort Lauderale, Florida.

Wide receivers coach Zach Smith, operating under the alias of "Jim Green," phoned a local barbershop to see if Grimes' name was a known commodity there.

Sounds like at least one barber could brush up on his Eleven Warriors reading, but it's good to see Grimes passed the test regardless.

His next goal will be conquering Columbus barbershops. If he does that, he should leave Ohio State much richer than when he came.
