Ohio State is the reigning world champion, and with a bevy of starters back on both sides of the ball, the Buckeyes are expected to open the season as the No. 1 team in the country.

Because of this — and because of the sprawling nature of #BuckeyeNation — magazines are looking to capitalize on Ohio State's good fortunes.

Cardale Jones, who has appeared on an ESPN Magazine cover before, is featured a regional cover of ESPN the Magazine's June issue.

Not to be outdone, Cardale's championship backfield partner, Ezekiel Elliott, the Teflon Wizard, will appear on Athlon Sports' Big Ten Preview cover:
